Comments (9)It would off been nice too have a few photos of the room from different angles as this would help with ideas on what wall would be best for the feature wall. To break up all that mirror you could use a spring loaded curtain rod and using a light weight fabric with either tabs or grommets for the rod to go through so that you can pull the fabric aside when you need to use the mirror or to get something out of the wardrobe. In the past when I use to rent, I use to fold up and take down the blinds and then used spring loaded curtain rods inside the window bay and place in light weight fabric nets or a nice shear fabric used in dressmaking to add some colour to the room. I am not a big fan of blinds I find them in personal and cold. Depending on your colour likes, you could use red through to orange. Red and yellow being a prime colour and as such orange is a companion colour made from the primaries and that's why they work so well together. Day lilies have bold red through to yellow so this could be a guide for that palette choice. Don't use black is too bold with yellow, but using mid to light ranged greys are good. Creams and whites will work look at the daffodil range for colour inspiration there. Always look at what colours can be made from yellow and a second primary colour as this will give you your shades to soften the primaries down. Yellow - Red = oranges Yellow - White = creams Yellow - Blue = greens By doing this I think you might find the colour combo that you will like, and it's not just the primaries that you can use look at the second primaries and see what goes with the yellow and try mixing it up a little. At the end of the day it's a bedroom so you don't want loud colours, you will want soft warm colours that help with calming but also romantic too. I hope that you manage to find something that you will like in the end :-) just enjoy the journey of discovery :-) Angela...See MoreLiving room dilemma!!!!!!! URGENT
Comments (6)Florence Broadhurst patterns are available in both fabric and wallpapers. Florence Broadhurst Available in graphic and bold or eclectic patterns you could consider patterned fabric blinds on the 3 windows and use the same in the kitchen window. Another use could be behind a glass spashback above the kitchen bench. Her modern designs from the 1960's are vibrant and eclectic and are widely available. All of these could be used with the right injection of orange, turquoise and teal to accent the kitchen and tie the rooms together. There are also rugs available in Florence Broadhurst design if you wanted to keep the pattern on the floor and you could add some shutters on the 3 windows for a different look in either whte or charcoal/black....See MoreLiving room Design Dilemma- which Arm chairs???
Comments (28)Your design scheme has a very traditional European feel. I would continue with this and look at a couple of Louis chairs. The link I've attached shows one with a mix of rattan with an upholstered seat cushion. You can also get them with an upholstered back and arms. However I quite like the rattan for contrast so it's not too matchy matchy with your sofas. http://www.canalside.com.au/productimage.php?product_id=115&current_image=1 You could then add a scatter cushion to the chair. Have you thought about also adding a couple of scatters cushions to each sofa, in a silk or silk like fabric. Check out Kaz's Samara range. Not sure what colour to recommend as I can't see your wall colour clearly but black goes with most colours. Oskuee's rugs are lovely, just make sure the colour ties in with your colour scheme. As you have plenty of dark timber in the room already, consider a glass and metal coffee table and lamp tables in a gold finish. Gorgeous crystal or mirrored table lamps and an ornate gold framed mirror over either the chairs or the sofa to finish off the room....See More- 3 years agoPamela Godsmark thanked JAMEITE Hand-painted Silk Wallpaper Co., LTD
