hi yes batches are different from batch to batch, but the finishers, toner, and self levellers, grout, are all different and have differing impact of the finish. Two of my Grandsons work in the concrete polishing industry (have for years)and come across this problem every other day. They are so very used to fixing up concrete pourers blues. I do know of some extreme difficulties (some over forty years old under carpet that have had the same problem) that have given my boys a hard time. However, at the end of it, using the right gear, you can literally see your face in the reflection plus the reflected image via the window.

I've had stick on 'privacy' frosting on some of my glass doors for more than 20 years. The first I used was over arctic glass panels in a loungeroom, not for privacy but for decor and on a perspex panel that replaced another door. Very successful on both surfaces given that the arctic glass is of a "bubbly texture"...so my experience with frosting has been very successful. The rolls of frosting available today come in many beautiful designs both coloured and plain. The "Lady powdering her nose" design could probably be found on websites advertising frosting.....easy to say I suppose. I've been experimenting with other materials very successfully. Christmas spray-on frosting and stencils on a glass bathroom door...been there for 8 years and still good. Also, strips of that continuous "lace" curtaining..find a design with a pattern that can be cut out without looking like its "a bit" of something..that is a "self contained" design....if you can envisage that. Again on a full glass bathroom door leading out to a semi enclosed veranda. I cut out the design, filled a a long receptacle wirh a mixture of that white gooey woodworking or craft glue.."Aquadhere" and water..enough glue to slide the soaked netting easily from the receptacle up the glass door...(like hanging wallpaper). Have the glass squeaky clean and just a little misted with water, Smooth out the lace design when it is positioned...and let it dry. The glue goes transparent on drying. I made a 'lace' panel down the centre of the glass. After all was dry I sprayed the whole of the glass surface with the same Christmas spray on frosting...often called "Santa fosting".....and I have privacy. On other glass surfaces I've added little stencils over the frosting...as oklouise mentions creating a layered effect. This experiment is very successful...been there since 2006 Have some fun experimenting. Its easy to remove if you don't like it, and you can have any size design you like and its not costly. Sorry, no digital pics.

We've just had new concrete pavers laid, and the finish was not what we were expecting. It looks as if the paveset/pavelok was not cleared from the paver surface before wetting down (and from what I've read this should be via misting rather than simply hosing down), and the joins were inconsistently filled. We're left with an unsightly mess of off colour pavers and a 'messy' look due to joins. I've tried some scrubbing with a hard bristle yard broom but it hasn't achieved a great deal. Would warm soapy water work or will I need to look at an acid wash? The first photo shows some of the pavers that haven't been affected (well and truly in the minority!) and the colour the pavers are meant to be. And this is what most of the area looks like: The following is an example of the join sanding inconsistencies throughout (the top picture is what I was expecting, the second looks to have been overfilled and not swept properly before watering in).
