What else are you changing? Gutters? Downpipes? Front porch tiles? What are you trying to achieve?

Dune and Paperbark would look similar unless you look closely , and I don't think surfmist would suit the bricks . The existing beige isn't too bad , but that khaki has to go .

I actually think Monument windows would work in with the darker insert bricks too , again with the proviso that you get rid of the khaki . In that theme though , going surfmist on the gutters would work with the monument , but with the other two options you'd probably want to go a crisp white gutters or very similar , to take away from the heaviness of the roof and those insert bricks .

Thanks so much to you both for your advice and questions. Main reason for the change is insulation. We're also renovating the back of the house to open it out to the garden and change the cladding on an existing extension so getting new sliding doors. Planning to repaint gutters, fascias.

Re our goal, we are just trying to make it all blend, so trying not to make anything look too modern for the traditional brick veneer house. Great to get your thoughts pottsy99. Do you think monument would look too modern? We know from looking at other houses that white, cream don't look great. Seems we're down to monument, dune or paperback. It’s a difficult decision. I’d stay away from Paperbark, it just doesn’t work with your brick. What do you have planned for the front garden and entry etc? And what is the interior style - the other side of the window is important too. A whole picture plan will give you the best result and help decision making.

Thanks big reader. It's quite open plan inside, modern layout and will all open up to the garden in the back with a pergola attached. We're going to reclad the extended area in the back to vertical cladding.. It's horrible Brown stuff at the moment. Kitchen will be updated, open plan, but not too modern in style, quite neutral. There are floorboards inside. I've attached the plans. I'm so stuck on the colours for the windows and doors! Good to know you don't think paperbark would work

Woodland has a greenish tinge , which is fine , but you are introducing another colour into the mix , whereas monument references the darker brick features , and dune or paperbark , being lighter , are closer to the existing windows and the boards under the gutters .

Personally , I would keep away from adding another tone to the mix -- I don't like the khaki for the same reason , it just overcomplicates things IMO .
