Hi jgjustingordon63! Good luck with your reno - it can be exciting and scarey doing a reno! Have you considered doing subways a bit differently such as the pic below (I found via Pinterest)? This way, it doesn't matter really the size. Check with your builder/tiler re the fall if you want large-ish tiles for the floor. If it's a small bathroom, this might be an issue. In the pic above they've gone with small tiles which also looks really lovely. One other point I would make from experience...We used charcoal floor tiles AND grout. Bleach can discolour the grout, so you just need to be aware of that. There are ways around it and you can re-grout down the track (at an expense) but just giving you the heads up here! Good luck!! Personally if I was spending an arm and a leg on the hex marble tiles I would want them to be the hero! I would keep the rest of the bathroom fairly simple. A standard large format white tile on the remaining walls would be perfect for both the budget and will allow the marble to stand out. I would do a grey floor tile, light or dark, what ever your preference. I have seen some beautiful bathrooms in those tones. The teak vanity will bring a nice warmth to the room.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have used grouting the same colour as the tiles and finished with a smaller tile at the top allowing for a decent gap below the ceiling. I hardly notice it! Very happy with the result.

Some baths are more suited for shower baths than others. It depends on the flattish standing room at the bottom of the bath. Some baths are quite curvy and narrow. Make sure you stand in a showroom bath to see if it feels too narrow (without your shoes).
