Look into Acer palmatum dissectum 'Inaba shidare' They are easily trainable by selective (somewhat artistic) pruning in early spring and ocassional snap here and there during the growing season. Depending on what you want to see you should select its initial form and then just slightly improve it every year. You can train a narrow vertical tree with cascading branches all way down from 6' to the ground and another one only 3' and to about 4-5' wide. I would like to try to find a middle so it has space all around, deep corner might not be a good ides and too much in the front either...find a middle and imagine it growing in width all around cascading down.

Sounds like your daughter's already got some interior designer instincts ;) Loving the black feature wall, and you don't want to take anything away from such a strong statement, so I think you should go with white... or at least a very light grey, e.g. Dulux Lexicon quarter (on the left)...

wow I love all these suggestions. I was going to suggest a grasscloth wallpaper, because it has wonderful texture. But I'm quite taken with the shelves idea now.

I alsoalso have hybrid theatre cum lounge room so obviously can't be dark am not having projector but will have laser tv . What color inshall select like charcoal but not dark so it defeats the purpose of lounge room too. Please provide suggestions
