I think you can definitely do this, provided you can move your door which you said you can. I have an ensuite at the side of my main bedroom - it's small but perfectly adequate. I measured it and including all external walls the ensuite takes up 1.4 x 3.05m space (my bedroom including the ensuite is 4.7m long so shorter than yours.). My room is wider (3.9m) so I can have a wardrobe along the wall where your door is and the bed on the opposite wall. But for you, I'd keep your bed where it is and look at putting your bed in a 'wardrobe wall'. you have the depth (1000mm) before the window starts and I think 3.3 m is wide enough ... ~800mm robe either side of bed. See pics below for what I mean. Only you will know if this is too squeezy but an ensuite can make so much difference to your lifestyle, I think it could be worth it!

challenging! i think a separate toilet and vanity area and bath/laundry works better and allows for multiple person occupancy but, measurements are critical so, a toilet shortest front to back leaves more leg room and an extra big drop in handbasin would look best in the bathroom instead of a laundry tub and what about an old fashioned shower curtain instead of a glass screen if you like the big bathtub with shower instead of a walk in super wide shower with glass screen. The scale of the laundry/bath wall cabinets will fit best (and have more storage for linen, laundry supplies and shampoo etc) if you use a 30cm deep kitchen wall cabinet (with mirror doors) instead of the usuall medicine cabinet depth The tall skinny cabinet in the vanity area should just fit an ironing board and skinny vacuum cleaner with linen under the small drop in (makes the bench more spacious) handbasin ...The doorway into the vanity area has no door, although an in-wall slider would be OK coming from the toilet side, a swinging door would just be in the way...the two windows in the bathroom are placed to maximise ventilation and should be no more than 75cm wide and 120cm tall (frosted glass?) Careful choice of fittings should have everything fitting in OK, good luck with it

Your mockup scheme is similar to our master bathroom we just completed - photo below. I know you mentioned storage being a concern - our mirrored cabinet has offered an amazing amount of storage in a very small space and also helps bounce light around. I was worried about black taps etc too so we kept chrome fixtures but added in a matte black candle and black potted orchid to create a similar effect which we can change out later on. Our floor tiles are dark but because they are semi-polished they actually bounce around a lot of light and don't make the room feel dark if that is a concern. We also have a huge fiddle leaf fig in the corner (not pictured) which adds a really nice feel to the space - a plant like that could help bring in the outside greenery in your bathroom. Instead of the storage tower you have to the left of the vanity could you do say some floating wood shelving, possibly with baskets added for more hidden storage? You could also bring in the 60s theme with what you displayed on there eg. photos as you mentioned? In regards to the window - a previous house we lived in had a window at about shoulder height in the shower - as well as letting in heaps of light it was amazing for storing toiletries etc!

Hi Paul, I hear your collective frustration! my comment about light bouncing into your eyes was in response to your question about bouncing light onto your faces from a light placed behind the vanity (from memory). Have you seen Dr Renos comment here - still the most logical response to me. https://www.houzz.com.au/discussions/5148857/where-to-place-power-points-and-lights#n=5 So I'm going to go for side lights next to the vanity cabinet. Trouble is, my vanity is off-centre to the cabinet mirror, so I still have to sort that one out. Time spent really considering this is well worth it. I think LED downlights may very well cast shadows, sorry to say :-) and the next consideration is what colour temperature - warm white or daylight? For relaxing ambience (75% bathroom function) it will def be 3000 warm white for me, however for the vanity functions it will be 4000K (daylight) so I will probably get the vanity lights switched separately to the main room light, maybe put that on a dimmer... I know there are some LED bulbs available that enable the colour temp to be changed within the same bulb...
