Large ensuite/walk in robe but no storage space!
Comments (6)In the ensuite, a towel shelf above the bath taps, not too deep but could use the full width of the wall to store extra towels, bath mats etc. There looks like room above the hamper for a double towel rail (one above the other or one with two rails or double hooks instead of the single ring). May need to move the laundry hamper to the other side of the bath neary the bedroom door. WIR, suggest you just use this for hanging space and if you haven't already get a couple of good size dressers in the main bedroom that would store all your folded items - may not be any need to go to the expense of building another wardrobe. Take down the shelving racks, work out how to optimise the space available for the cloths you need to hang. Tops and pants on double rails or get some trouser racks and shoe racks, do you need much long hanging space, would you store coats in here or is there other storage elsewhere. A high shelf above the hanging could be used for out of season or special occasion clothes stored in suitable boxes. I have attached a photo of our recent custom wardrobe fit out as we don't have a walk in in this house and have had to make the best use of the space available. I measured and drew it up on graph paper first then we installed Neata and Elfa units. Still waiting on the top racks to arrive though to complete it. You will be surprised how much hanging space you can get with double rails. There are plenty of options for shoe storage racks if you want to include these in your walk in or cupboards that could be unobtrusive in your bedroom. Good luck and I hope this helps....See MoreHow can I make my ensuite bigger? Moving W/I robe?
Comments (24)Having lived for years with a front loader in the kitchen under counter and now with a good sized laundry I am resenting the laundry for the space it wastes! I would rather have a "european solution" and a good en-suit and walk in :) really it is a matter of how you want to live, in reality if you spend your life considering resale you won't enjoy your home, prospective purchasers will love or hate whatever you do, those that don't want a space solution will be the ones who want the big ensuite and robe anyway! Do it with love then others will love it too, good luck...See MoreEnsuite and walk-in robe layout advice
Comments (55)If you flip the entrance into your sugggested Powder room you will need to reduce part of the width of that space to allow for a door into the passage. The Master bedroom would then have a close up view straight into the bathroom at the vanity (bathroom doors are usually open when not in use and especially when they are without an external window) The shower rose in the ensuite would be on the external wall and not as shown in the 3d It would be better to remove the shower from the Powder room and retain the Master robe, keeping the small entrance passageway for accessing these rooms at either or both ends...See MoreMaster bedroom, ensuite and WIR robe ideas
Comments (38)What is the wall going out from the laundry, is there another room? Going up into the roof space is a great way to add extra room/s if the pitch is high enough, perhaps your son inlaw could get up there with a tape. We did this some years ago in our Federation house and ended up with 2 bedrooms with a study break out area across the end of both rooms which had QBs. Our builder pre ordered the stairs which were installed in one piece, this was quick and once the stairs were in place they could then proceed to fit out the space. Your wide passage could be where these stairs would fit....See MoreChris Bos
