Hi Tia, they are bamboo. They are actually textured as they are real bamboo, not a laminate copy of bamboo. Although it is still on a layer of wood underneath! If that makes sense? I love the texture! The white cupboards are two pack, I think! :)

Hi Jody, to do this return cabinetry you need a minimum of an 1800mm wall, because if the fridge were a pantry accessing this corner would be fine as standard 600mm bench top depths are reachable, however fridges are ordinarily 800mm deep, making it difficult to reach past to shelving. It appears as though the Bec hypo that runs into that corner currently has a slight return, and perhaps a corner cabinet, so if the fridge moves down you could build shelves or a microwave appliance nook there, but again pushing it back into that corner with the fridge there will make it Lu possible for you to reach, I suggest a non structural change. Remove the nib wall which encloses the fridge, and extend the back wall the fridge is currently on, this extends the hallway, and allows you to build in an appliance cabinet after the corner, and then the fridge to follow. I would create a new island coming off that new wall, effectively creating an enclosed u shape kitchen rather than the L SHAPE and island you now have. Removing the nib wall and extending new stud wall from the existing will be easy and cost effective, even something that your partner could do. Tis way you can have an improved work area, and new overheads on the back wall, visually linking in with the new front bench. Tis gives you an opportunity to basically re style the kitchen with minimal changes. While you Re busy ordering overheads, a new island section, the cabinetmaker would be happy to also supply change over doors to the remaining sink length if cabinetry, thus giving you an entire new look kitchen. I do also like the idea mentioned about closing off that pantry for a study, it is AR to big for a pantry, and really wastes the fourth bedroom. It could bebetter utilized in many ways.

The kitchen will be custom built, I’ve put the voids in as I really dislike corner cabinets and blind corner cabinet units and would rather have more room for drawers. I spent quite a bit of time going through what I store in my current kitchen and I’m confident I’ll have enough storage even with the voids. Your question re the distance from the corners to the edges of the architrave... I think your referring to the sunroom door? I have 2160mm along wall A, this section is brick and the architraves are actually recessed a bit and sit at approx 2260. What other corner to architrave measurements do you need? We are having a gas cooktop, it is 650mm but will fit in a 600mm cabinet. As for the dishwasher i had considered moving it into the peninsula but we are building on a concrete slab and whilst not impossible the plumbing would be difficult here due to very hard to access spot under the house in this section ( enclosed/walled piers, low height). And I thought that having the dishwasher where it is allows for better access for two people in the kitchen, generally when we clean up someone deals with the dishes and the other person packs away leftovers etc. which will be best done from the peninsula where they can easily access the drawers under it and the fridge. Also my husband is left handed and I have been using a dishwasher to my left for the last 12 years so I‘m fine with it.

have you personally inspected the property to clarify the available space as the real estate photos show that bed 3 is already being used for the living area so the property is really only two bedrooms plus open plan living dining kitchen and attempting to add an upstairs powder room would mean having the toilet open into the kitchen living area ..it may be possible to install a tiny powder room above the stairs (say $10-$20,000... if you could gain Council approval to do it) but another property with an existing upstairs bathroom would be more comfortable for yourself as well as your guests
