I would replace single picture with 2 to 3 pictures that are vertical possibly over the headboard. Depending on the size, display them across your headboard so that they span further than the current picture, say across the headboard but inside the shelves. In addition you might want to consider some sort of lighting that you can attach to the headboard that you can direct down rather than thinking of table lamps. I think the shelving can work, but for me would be collectors of things and never looked very nice. If you're different than me maybe you could start with something low on that top shelf with just some small things on the other ones. Good luck

I would inlay it into a frame..ie with a base to hold the marble..then that way you can screw/weld the legs to the base of the frame..

Personally I like the ones you have but I know about storage issues, your room has grey tones so I would go with that if your couldn't find something in white. White always looks clean and it allows you to change the colours in your room, at a later stage without changing your cabinetry. I do like the chest of draws idea suggested by someone above - it was what I had thought of before I saw their photo - the low but wide ones in grey. You have plenty of room for that and it could make your room look wider. For me the eye sore in the room is the ceiling light fixture. Something modern / perhaps glass or a large circular pendant could be perfect.

Hi Mark This rug from Bayliss could work. I agree with many other comments made about side tables, lamps etc. however if I was you I would get the rug first & then go one step at a time from there. You can then get some darker coordinating cushions, bigger side tables etc. You art is hung too high & is too small for the area. However, as I said one step at a time. Finally, your rug should allow for the front feet of your sofas to be on it as a minimum. I suspect you might need a bigger size rug.
