Guest bedroom and office layout dilemma
Comments (10)Hi Katie, can you move your office somewhere else while your guests are staying? Maybe put the bedhead under the window and push it hard against the left hand wall, that will give you about 67cm between the bed and the door, room to sneak in a small bedside table (if queen bed is 153cm wide and room is 220). Not ideal as the person closest to the wall would have to shuffle down off the end of the bed but it's a very tight space for a queen size bed. You could maybe then put a small chair or two and table against the wall between the end of the bed and the wardrobe for a sitting area for your guests. if your desk needs to stay would it fit along the wall where the bed head is currently? Assuming you don't want to swap the bed out to a double....See MoreOur guest bedroom!
Comments (26)1/ timber bed head and white bedsides ? bed head looks chunky bedsides too slim ? 2/ Stegbar does glass BIR doors to Dulux colours..I'd swap those mirrored doors ..the doors below I had done for a 10 years old girl when we first moved in 3/re-paint room..neutral colour since it is such a small room 4/ Roman blinds ? can get quite nice ones made up. Had these made to match that BIR..an alternative to curtains. Freedom has a good range of curtains if you decide on curtains. I recently got a set and got an alteration place to hem it up for me for $6/metre 5/ carpet ..any chance of changing the carpet ? 6/ bed linen I'd change it to plain white give it a bit of texture throws..cushions in accent colours https://www.google.com.au/search?q=bed+linen+australia&client=safari&hl=en-au&prmd=simvn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiCvvzmiu7KAhVGKpQKHfQCAAUQ_AUICCgC#imgrc=zfdBasg5zgCLpM%3A or go neutral I love this https://www.google.com.au/search?q=bed+linen+australia&client=safari&hl=en-au&prmd=simvn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiCvvzmiu7KAhVGKpQKHfQCAAUQ_AUICCgC#imgrc=W2lyyVW3x_W64M%3A...See MoreWarm or Cool? Comments (6)always depends on the people expected to use the rooms but usually decorate to suit your own taste to tone with the rest of the house but furniture should suit the use..eg a parent/relative or close friend coming for a regular weekend could have a home away from home with schemes to suit "mum's favourite colours" and storage for clothes and toiletries to be kept in "their" rooms but an occasional guest would not expect the room to be kept for their personal use and you could make the rooms useful for a study or MPR with a comfy sofa bed and desk for guests...See MoreLorraine
