Paint Lustre - Low-Sheen or Semi-Gloss?

Question re: paint lustre... I am getting my internal block walls repainted and I've read that low-sheen can absorb light. My home is already dark as it doesn't get much direct sunlight (windows all have patio awnings over them on the outside) and they face east/west. The west has the bigger sliding glass doors, while the east has just a small window and a standard door as the light source. Will a semi-gloss look ok on the blockwork instead of a low-sheen finish? I'm thinking it might reflect better? I have no children and no dogs etc, so walls will not be getting high traffic/dirty. Anyone done this in their home and do you have photos to share? Thanks, Suzy.
