Where in the room is it to go and what is its purpose?

For reading the Arod appears to have greater adjustability.

The Fransalg features timber which introduces some warmer tones but if you don't have any other timber around the room it might look out of place.

Of the colours you list, I think I'd choose black, maybe chrome for variety, but not white because it would almost disappear against the walls. But it might depend on the style, sometimes something works well in one colour and doesn't in a different colour. I mean a white lamp might actually work, if it's bulky enough, and there is already some white furniture. On the other hand a black lamp if it's bulky might be a little overpowering.

Thank you, it will go next to / or in front of the freezer. The freezer will be moved eventually when I get a bigger fridge / freezer.

So is it more to fill the corner than task lighting, or do you need good functionality too? I mean there's a difference between a nice pleasant glow and enough light to read by.

I like the ambience that a nice light brings. I want it so I can still read / write in my planner while watching tv with my partner.

In the evenings before I go to sleep, I prefer ambient lights.

I’m wanting it next to the couch / where the freezer currently is, so I can turn it on an off while sitting on the couch.

I can see quite a few on the website that would work. I like the ones that look like a tall barrel too, and they fill a corner nicely, but I'm not sure if they are so good for reading, and they might put a glare onthe tv? I hope someone else chimes in with some thoughts.

Have a look also at Fantastic Furniture and Target also for reasonably priced lamps also a lovely artwork would look great on wall behind couch, Kmart have really great frames that you could add prints or your own artwork , also rugs for around $69

Thank you I’ll look into those places, and yes I absolutely do need a rug as well, that’s next on the list of things to decide on.
