Hi everyone, You may remember my posting Design Dilemma back inJune/July 2017? Thanks for all your amazing suggestions and ideas. Many of our grand plans were just beyond our budget. We had considered so many professional recommendations, -removing load bearing walls, -installing larger windows. -Restoration of the copper rangehood ...a total rebuild as copper was on the front surface only with limited space contained within structure for ducting and fans. Time to rethink ! -Remove the tiled floor?...the tiles covered an extensive area with underfloor heating so jack hammering would have been our only option. Another rethink! -Skylights ? Not an option and we already had solartube type skylights installed in a very steep roof. No other choices available. Paint over internal cedar and brick walls? We were left totally confused!! Enter kitchen consultant number 4! A fresh look and approach to solving our dingy outdated kitchen, yet keep with integrity of our cedar lined and brick interior. All renovations now completed. We are really happy with the outcome. Before...

Apart from the Barestone cladding and the sub-floor brickwork, what are your choices for guttering and downspouts? What is style of house-I'm thinking modern.?? Single floor, double-storey, or other? All of the external materials need to be considered in order to achieve a cohesive style. You want them to work well together. You may want merely to blend, recede into its environment, or you may want to make a dramatic statement. It would help to know style of house and what other materials & specific colours you have already selected or are presently considering. Answers to these questions will help with further comment. We are in the process of finalising our exterior for a new build on the northern beaches in Sydney. we have 2 concepts one with either brick veneer and the other with sycon cladding. cost will be a major factor in this decision as we like both concepts and are mindful of overcapitalising in our area. can anyone shed some light on approx cost savings in building a lighter weight upper floor with cladding?

You should have what you prefer . The first , brick , pattern looks busier and the second looks plainer . Either looks fine to me , though as a personal choice I like a more streamlined look .
