Comments (13)Really good basic decorating. Now accessorise to give it some finish - an indoor plant to hide the extension cord socket, some artwork on the wall beside the lounge, a couple of cushions on the lounge and something colourful at one end of the entertainment unit - maybe a nice bowl. You can even plan a cosy throw for winter. The greens like Helenscolour used will really cheer the area up, but you could use any colours you like. This is the beauty of your basic colours, you can change the accessories to suit your moods or the seasons. Do you need some end tables at all? A lamp or lamps could go on them for some soft lighting if you wanted....See MoreNeed help with my tv room
Comments (12)1/ get Roman blinds for the windows installed onto the ceiling.. 2/ change the carpet to floor boards and a nice light rug.. 3/ repaint the room ..looks quite dark and creamy there 4/ get rid of the clutter by getting a built in unit for TV and do away with your tables and coverings 5/ keep the chest/trunk as a coffee table 6/ rearrange your lounge suite into an L shape.. 7/ if you really want to get rid of the lounge suite make it uncomfortable to sit on..I'd put slits into it accidentally lol the dogs fault? lol he'll come around or I'd pretend someone else needed it more than you so gave them away..lol that's how I get to buy new stuff for the apartment ..I slowly stow them to the beach house then from beach house they get given away lol...See MoreRe-configuring Living Room - TV/sofa placement
Comments (11)We built our house in 1975 and had a similar problem; A teeny tiny family room with too many doors. After several years of squeezing ourselves into this poorly functioning excuse of a "family" room, which has entrances in every corner bar one, plus an entry into the kitchen and sliding door to outside, in a fit of frustration, I decided that our under-utilised formal lounge/dining would be used as a living room with the TV, although we chose to keep the dining table in that room as it is a long narrow room. I made this change 26 years ago. The family room is now just a sitting area with one 2.5 seater couch and a side table at each end, no TV and is a great space for a few people to congregate in to keep the cook company or just to read. However it would have worked equally well with the dining table there. In any case, because of all the doorways, it is really just a walk-through area, but now feels spacious and "settled" instead of crowded and messy. I can recommend the change.....you will feel much less at "sixes and sevens" with your home....See Moreredecoration of small tv room
Comments (8)Yeah the room is a bit tricky to work with as it has the French style doors that let you look in . The TV had to be quite far away from the fireplace due to extreme heat 🥵. I would love to do the pic below on two walls with different photos but not sure if it will be too much in such a small space ? Wall height is 3m so might be able to get aware with it...See MoreKate
