I have tried all the suggestions Perini - didn't look purple in real life. Tile Boutique - no purple floor tiles at all. All all the lots and lots of other places = no purple floor tiles. Yes I have seen purple glass mosaics almost everywhere but I don't want small mosaics on the floor. Will also cost $55 sqm more to have grouted than a regular size floor tile. Looks like I'll just have to do boring grey as it's the trend but I have at least found one with sparkles if I can't have purple. I'm also amazed at reactions of the tile sales people - questioning, surprise, snobbery and happiness to be trying to look for something that is different. Cant' say I can't find purple, I have but with a 10 to 14 week wait to be ordered from O/S and lots of $$$ but I need to reno the bathroom by then so can't wait. Motto: If you have time and money can do anything.

if the budget allows for it, porcelain tiles are my recommendation. They look better, have smaller grout lines, can get them to look like any modern stone, like marble, granite, travertine or even available in wood look slats. My hot tip is the less grout the better, which means the smaller the tile the more grout lines, stay away from mosaic on the floor, I've seen too often these being ripped out because the grout dates and ages from soap scum etc. After seeing grey, black and various colours on floors, I would always go with white on the floor, easy to keep clean and no fading of the tile profile. For me, it would be colour. Maybe a feature wall for walls around dining, or living, pick colour from your favoured painting, and use same and other colours from pictures for cushions or even some occasional furniture in the brightest colour - I saw this done beautifully in a tarted up house for display - a small seat/coffee table painted and upholstered in an orange mix, which was taken from the splashback (everything else was neutral) and also in a throw for lounge.

I would like to reduce the width anywhere from 80' - 90'. The land is completely flat. We have a lot on the corner, so the main roads would be on the right and bottom. I picked this layout because I liked the privacy it gave our (to be put in) pool. There are existing neighbors on the left and soon to be neighbors behind us. We have a large family so I want to keep all of the house space/ bedrooms etc. Ideally I would want to move the 3 car garage somewhere behind master suite (not sure at which angle). I just don't know how to completely flip the right side of the house and still make it work, because I like the idea of having the master suite able to walk right out to the pool. @oklouise @Black Bamboo @dreamer @Kate @User
