What a dramatic transformation. I love the mix of materials used. So good the stumps could be used internally - they are beautiful. Fabulous job!

How come I often seem to be the desenting voice haha ? Just me personally , the graffiti or art ( to be honest , I actually thought it was a couple of $50 'Banksy' rip-off peel off wall stickers off e-bay ) I would do on long framed or frameless canvases -- that way you could change them if you wanted , or paint the walls if you wanted -- basically , more options . It also means if they are selling , it is a lot easier to change if a new owner didn't like them . The photo ( 3rd from bottom ) with the extra wall with the 2 colourful prints or paintings in white frames is way more my preference . And while I understand the rug is similar tones to the art , to me it looks too busy , and that 'trend' of bright coloured cushions that clash with the bright primary couch colour reminds me of preschools or Government Departments -- places where taste is relatively unknown . Blue and green should never be seen , and the yellow is fighting with the blue IMO . More subdued golds , mid reds and warm orange would have the same effect without the 'jarring' in my opinion . I am no expert , and taste is personal , I love colour but that seems like having bright colours just because you can , but that doesn't mean you should . . . . . . . . .

My kitchen is primarily 'burnt red' and the red bricks , which are slightly less brown than the burnt red . the ceiling is white , with stainless downlights , the rest is red , charcoal , white , the odd fleck of grey and black . The floor and blind are brown wood . I don't consider it overly decorated . It opens to the dining room , which is also a natural wooden floor , a black glass top table with black legs , black steel framed chairs with red leather seats and backs , an almost black wooden sideboard , a couple of big colourful abstract paintings , and 3 walls are wallpapered in a wheat weave pattern , the 4th is that red brick . There are 2 large wooden venetians too . The lounge is , yep , red leather lounge suite and extra chairs , there's even a red leather footstool that is heart-shaped ! The TV cabinet is custom made and is nearly 4 metres long , all wood with a dark stain . The floor is wheat coloured carpet with a large shaggy red rug , a black glass coffee table , a 65 inch TV and 7 speaker home theatre , a couple of those polished search light spot lights on wooden tripods , and several original paintings ( only 1 is an abstract , the rest are people , although a couple are Picasso-esque ! ) . Not much white , not a great fan . I'll put up some pics in a couple of years when I've tidied hahaha .

Hi Rekiah, we investigated partial stone facades when we were building, and my advice is do not skimp on the quality and get someone experienced to install. This does mean it may not be as inexpensive as some other options, however. Aesthetics are such a personal thing. I, like CP, and as much as I like the look in general, would update other areas first. I’d also be very careful regarding the colour and maybe look at alternative patterning. Search in Houzz photos: red brick and stonework, filter for exteriors. I also found searching the house sale sites, extremely time consuming, but useful. Imports to compare oranges with oranges though, and not oranges with my ideal 🙂. Good luck and do let us know what you decided
