What would you do with this blank space in the bedroom?
Comments (17)Emily, with being a renter, I'd definitely check Pinterest for temporary solutions. I've seen DIYs where you can starch fabric to walls with an iron. Also try temporary wall paper/decals, but I'd test a small area first. Cabinet makers or even yourself would be able to create a flush vanity without attaching it to the wall. Plywood, especially hoop pine, has received a lot of traction. It really gives a clean, organic look that you could have custom cut to fit in the area. You could also use it on the wall – it could be stained, left natural, or painted for a feature. Have a look at EchoPanel. It is a decorative, acoustic pinboard that would add a splash of color/design. If it is above your vanity, you could pin pictures, inspirations, etc....See MoreWhat would you put in this Space
Comments (5)Do you want any more storage? A long low upholstered ottoman could be nice. Maybe a low display/book shelf under the window but I'm not sure if you want white to match the tv unit or timber like the coffee table or colour. Other idea is to dress the window with a pelmet & side drapes Add another casual chair with a tall corner lamp. (Or something to hide the power points etc.) A larger art piece over the couch would help too & can you move the exercise machine to another room?...See MorePoll: When you had a bad day, what would you do at home?

Comments (4)Wow what a great space to work with - the options are endless and it really depends on your budget. Some ideas:- - paint all the fences to give the area a lift - could also consider putting horizontal timber boards (a bit like decking not sure what you call them) along the fence under the pergola as a feature with a couple of pot plants in front of it or a vertical garden - remove the Hills Hoist and put a large fold down clothesline along one of the fences to open up the area - consider replacing concrete with some pavers if you have the budget and then remove some of the concrete so that you can open up the space with more lawn - plant screening trees along the fence lines to add some more green and keep the space nice and open - in the covered area, the above suggestion is ideal - if you need more light you could consider some transparent sheeting in the roof of the pergola Just some ideas but of course it all comes down to your budget and taste....See MoreTrish Thomson
