Looks like your windows are a dark grey?? I'd do everything else that same colour.

They are that 80s dark brown! Looking to replace those also

Choose a dark colour for all your trims, balcony, windows, garage doors, update the lighting add a modern look to front door with new hardware, trim scallop off the outdoor blinds to give a more updated look and paint them same colour as trim ( we did this with a roller and weathershield paint) so easy and looks great. Changing the colour of your roof would look great also.

Agree, do not paint or render the brick. Love everything painted a dark trim on an 1980 brick home, always looks good. But, a crisp white on all trim with a dark roof, new white windows, white balustrade etc etc, would also look good with your colour brick. I would be also replacing the existing awnings with brand new complete box and awning. Or remove completely if not required.

I quite like the terracotta orange roof , and similarly the brick . But that green , that would have been trendy at the time , has to go . It's made even worse because we can see the mission brown fence to the left , and the faded green awnings .

I'd leave the windows until you have tried a new colour scheme -- sure , they are dated , especially if you live there and see them up-close , but in the picture they'd suffice -- they look dark enough that they'd work , as robandlyn alluded to .

I'd even leave the garage doors , but the entrance doors I'd do in a bright Vitamin C Orange -- it ties in with the bricks and tiles , plus its more welcoming than the dark doors IMO , plus visitors know where to head . A dark door like Julies inspo pic looks more modern , but the bricks etc basically tell you the era anyway , so try and go too modern and you'd really have to do a full reno , or it could look a bit disjointed , a bit try-hard .

So the terrace etc -- like everyone , go charcoal . And the fence to the left do that charcoal too .

If you want/need awnings , I'd stick with new ones in Vitamin C orange , and make it a happy , sunny look , with the 'mysterious dark' trim and windows .

I would normally suggest a change to mid grey or charcoal to go with the brick with a pop of colour for the front door or go with cedar doors. However, if you are not changing the 80;s brown aluminium windows, this will not work.

The green balcony railings and the fabric awnings need addressing but I also think it is worth going a bit further to look for a good solution.

I don't know your budget or time frame but initially I would ask if you actually use the narrow balconies that face the street? If not, are the doors onto the deck used just for ventilation and light into the rooms. Maybe a permanent sun shade would be better for you.

Below is an image that shows an integrated balustrade and sun shade screen that might work similarly on your facade.

Perhaps you could demolish part of the deck and extend another part of it to make it more usable. Does the roof actually need maintaining or are you just wanting a visual update?

These images illustrates that you could update the facade with framing the facade differently and maybe use glass balustrades or a different material altogether.

I wouldn't normally suggest rendering brick that is in a good condition but perhaps a small portion of it might work well with a re-worked elevation.
