The kitchen benchtop material of 2016?
Comments (14)Ok, so we don't need engineered stone in our kitchen, as we have it there already, but we just had more of the same stone installed in our new powder room & ensuite to match the kitchen's earthy colour scheme. We do, however, need to choose a natural granite for our alfresco kitchen as engineered stones are not covered by manufactures' warranty in our situation. So, I stick with engineered and natural stones for the long term bench top of choice....See MoreWhat's your experience with terrazzo kitchen benchtops?
Comments (40)Hi all our terrazzo bench has been installed and in use for over 12 months. This bench was poured in Italy and then finished by a stonemason off-site type. When 1st installed I spilt some lemon juice which created a mark so we are careful not to use acidic items on the bench. I am not sure if this happened before or after we sealed it but I think it’s important to seal any natural stone product and we used the sellers recommended product called “slow drying sure seal” but I won’t vouch for its effectiveness as I can’t compare it to anything. Over all we love the look but I think you need to be a little more careful around natural products than engineered ones so it may depend on your lifestyle...See MorePolytec - Kitchen Benchtop
Comments (3)I have used 40mm Polytec laminate in my bathrooms, powder rooms, office and laundry. Very pleased with it. Home is almost 7 years old. Sorry, don’t know how much it cost, because it was in full build contract, not actually itemised. If using a builder, there will be an allowance for all bench tops, either with engineered stone eg: caesarstone, or with laminate. Builders have better buying power than if we bought these products at a retail shop. So a builder using engineered stone may not be as expensive as you think. I did use caesarstone in my kitchen, I have 9600mm of bench top, so my budget went to laminate in bathrooms, powder rooms, office and laundry....See MoreKitchen benchtop
Comments (1)Hello K & R have you looked at the Stone Ambassador range of "engineered" Reconstituted Stone who make a large selection in various different white tones. See https://www.stoneambassador.com.au/product-catalogue/ but always best to see these in the flesh so to speak as opposed to the colour you see on a computer screen. Hope this helps, Malcolm....See MoreKate
