"Kitchen help we want to get rid of breakfast bar"
Comments (10)looks fantastic.. at some stage I want to change my kitchen and extend it but just move the breakfast bar back a bit and make it longer. That would add 3 or 4 drawers 90 wide to the end of my breakfast bar and make the corner cupboard usable. A new caesarstone benchtop would top it off nicely I hate the laminate I have now.. In the meantime while I am waiting to afford to do this I am going to just get the 3 or 4 drawer unit and put a wooden top on it and place it at the end of my brekky bar. I will be able to use the cabinetry when I remodel the kitchen. In this photo you can just see the edge of the hallway wall.. if I extend out to be level with that then it will look right.. what you cant see in this photo i my pantry as there is none. Currently I use a hallway cupboard for all my baking and spices. And you can see that I have a long window just to the left front of the breakfast bar. So cant extend past that. So not much to work with.. the hole is where my fridge sits. These are photos of the setup pre purchase....See MoreNeed help want to exclude breakfast bar
Comments (7)i reckon to get rid of breakfast bar and extend the bench but replace with 1 or 2 tall pantry cupboards. at the other end move the doorway along to center of wall. on the other side of kitchen where the oven is i would have pantry halfway along and bench the rest of way to fridge with oven under bench and stove top. you could even have a builtin microwave in the pantry area....See MoreI need help choosing kitchen cabinets colour selection
Comments (17)Your kitchen is a good size but not huge so I would go with gloss white to match in with your lovely fridge. All white appliances. Light coloured bench top in the grey range. Backsplash, I'd go to tile expo, choose something you love and add some colour behind the stove, the rest of the splashbacks behind the sink etc in white subway tiles. Dark floors as you have chosen, all the walls in the house Dulux Whisper White. This is a great colour to go with everything, i use it all the time in my designs....See MoreHelp! Which kitchen design should I choose?
Comments (164)In my early twenties I designed kitchens for my mother and two aunts (Uncle built them and they worked), but when it came to designing my own - had to fit a constrained space and no possibility of extension - I chewed my lips for ages - like Nicole, I drew and measured ad infinitum, and used graph book walls, views etc. I did one extra thing - which I think worked - I listed all that I wanted to store, and tried to analyse how I liked working in the kitchen. Some things I had to settle for because of space (such as a smaller dishwasher) but most of it has worked. We have a corner pantry, which I (and the cat, husband a bit larger) can walk into, but have not put small appliances in there - they sit in a large drawer beneath the main working bench, which also works well. It all looks good to me Nicole and thinking carefully about needs and how things work in advance usually results in something you'll be happy with. Good luck!...See MoreSonia
