need help choosing tile colour to match new kitchen design
Comments (24)I think it is good to mix up the warm and cool colours. We have warm furniture too so its just the walls that are cool. I even have a beige/stone coloured curtain next to the grey wall and it looks so nice. Because this is an open plan room do you think those type of tiles will be too busy? I always go for plain things but i can see how something like that would look really good! This is one big room with lounge, dining, kitchen and french doors that open to a massive decking. I will post a pic of the whole thing when the final benchtop and tiles go on...See MoreNeed help chosing kitchen cabinet colours that will go with Jarrah
Comments (6)It depends on the look you're trying to achieve. For a contemporary and streamline look, I would select Dulux natural white for the kitchen cabinetry. Or, if you want the kitchen to stand out, I would suggest to choose a contrasting colour with the walls. A great way is to select your material and colours would be to take your stone and wall colour sample into a paint trade centre or hardware store where you can put them against possible options. Another way, is to have the stone, natural white paint colour in your hands, put them alongside the Jarrah floor and possible options. I'm not familiar with your style, existing furniture or personality so I'm taking a stab in the dark - but because your benchtop material looks like a cool grey, I would suggest to also choose a cool grey (like Dulux Sky Painting) for your cabinetry. Best of luck!...See MoreHelp on choosing colours for kitchen cabinetry and walls
Comments (4)Hi. If this could be of any help, you can go on Caesarstone website and select the stone you have chosen from their list (Frosty Carrina) and check the page. On their website, they have lots of examples of kitchen/bathrooms etc. for each stone colour, usually at the bottom of the page. This may be inspiring....See MoreHelp! Comments (164)In my early twenties I designed kitchens for my mother and two aunts (Uncle built them and they worked), but when it came to designing my own - had to fit a constrained space and no possibility of extension - I chewed my lips for ages - like Nicole, I drew and measured ad infinitum, and used graph book walls, views etc. I did one extra thing - which I think worked - I listed all that I wanted to store, and tried to analyse how I liked working in the kitchen. Some things I had to settle for because of space (such as a smaller dishwasher) but most of it has worked. We have a corner pantry, which I (and the cat, husband a bit larger) can walk into, but have not put small appliances in there - they sit in a large drawer beneath the main working bench, which also works well. It all looks good to me Nicole and thinking carefully about needs and how things work in advance usually results in something you'll be happy with. Good luck!...See More- 8 years ago
