This is correct, for a bathroom / ensuite with an enclosed shower, there is no need for an additional floor waste even when you have a bath within the room. The exception is if the bath has a shower function that makes the bath an unenclosed shower. In which case you will need an additional floor waste. ‘However it’s prudent practise to install floor wastes in all wet area rooms and our recommendation would be to include an additional floor waste in each of these areas. A very minor cost could save a lot of headaches in the future. ‘At the very least, specify a bath with a intergrated overflow function.

I have some more photos if needed. The space is used very badly in my opinion, and the spaces are quite small. We think we might brick in the windows to the floor, and have a window on the upper section only as we are rendering the outside of the house so this 'should' work and give us some more space. We have just had blackbutt vinyl planks laid through the rest of the house, and charcoal carpet in the bedrooms. We both like a more minimal style and would like to take the idea of the charcoal through to the bathroom but in a much lighter tone than our carpets. Definitely want to keep a bath in the main bathroom - I love my baths!!! Both bathrooms only have a shower space of 1m x 1m at most and we would like that bigger. Ideally I'd love to work out how to fit a larger vanity in the ENsuite - and we also think we can change the sliding door to a solid door that slides into the wall cavity to give us that space back. Melamine describes the surface finish, not the core of the board. Most 3mm thick boards at Bunnings are MDF (medium-density fibreboard) which is not water-resistant. When MDF gets wet it swells and falls apart so is not stable for places that may get wet, which is why there shouldn't be MDF skirting boards in bathrooms, especially near a shower recess. However, if your 3mm thick panel is not MDF based its success (or failure) will depend on what material it is actually made from. Your problem will be sealing any joints, like where it meets the benchtop and vertical corners. In addition, you may also have penetrations for powerpoints and taps which will also have to be properly sealed. Near a stove, you may have steam that gets behind and starts problems.
