post what you have here with the plan of the existing spaces with dimensions (make sure you include doors and windows including the architraves and height of windows off the floor) and add photos and a wish list

I have some more photos if needed. The space is used very badly in my opinion, and the spaces are quite small. We think we might brick in the windows to the floor, and have a window on the upper section only as we are rendering the outside of the house so this 'should' work and give us some more space. We have just had blackbutt vinyl planks laid through the rest of the house, and charcoal carpet in the bedrooms. We both like a more minimal style and would like to take the idea of the charcoal through to the bathroom but in a much lighter tone than our carpets. Definitely want to keep a bath in the main bathroom - I love my baths!!! Both bathrooms only have a shower space of 1m x 1m at most and we would like that bigger. Ideally I'd love to work out how to fit a larger vanity in the ENsuite - and we also think we can change the sliding door to a solid door that slides into the wall cavity to give us that space back. Does that all help? SOrry if I've uploaded badly with all the different posts!!!

my first thought for the cheapest improvement would be to sacrifice the linen cupboard for more room in the family bathroom but i'm also wondering about the extra hallway wasted outside the toilet...do you have renovation plans for the rest of the house?

we are quite unsure - I thought that about the linen cupboard too, but then not sure where I would put all the linen! The whole house is a bit of an odd design (we live on property of 20 beautiful acres, so fell in love with the land not the house). We may do some minor rennovations but don't really have budget for too much in terms of structural change but those ideas don't seem too expensive I'd imagine

by using the existing linen cupboard to improve the family bathroom there would be no need to block off the window (a crime to reduce a gorgeous rural view from a new generous sized free standing bath and the two "loos with a view" are essential on acres and so much cheaper than changing windows and try some 30 cm deep style storage in the hall outside the toilet for bedlinen and the bigger vanities in the bathroom should store all the towels etc ... my suggestions include a bigger freestanding bath, bigger showers (with glass instead of solid walls), bigger vanities with matching wall cabinets and cavity sllding doors for the wiw with no changes to windows

and long term you should consider how to better use the laundry spaces

thank you! Great idea for the linen to use that wasted space. We will be doing the laundry as well at a similar time but bathrooms are priority. Interesting about the windows - we hate them to the floor as they 1. take up too much wall space and 2. open at the bottom so the house seems to be never ending dusty and dirty. Maybe we just swap the windows from bottom opening to top.

changing windows is a very expensive option so carefully measure the openings and take close up photos of the existing windows to the local window makers and ask for quotes to replace the whole windows and/or change the opening from bottom to top (keeping in mind that you would then need to change the walls and pay to have the new windows installed and, if you would like to suggest an alternated layout for the bathrooms i would be happy to draw your ideas to scale and what would you like to do with the laundry and what are all the floors made out of (under tiles and carpet etc)
