Hello Kelly! The drawing of your soon to be kitchen is amazing, the exposed beams add a raw element and texture to the room whilst keeping the space feel open and inviting. You mentioned you wanted to place your dining table in the opposite direction with white chairs. I get the feeling that you might like a more eclectic or scandi look, timbers and whites! If you are in New Zealand, I have often found great lights (and a big range) at Lighting Plus. Hello Northstar 1 thing to remember when choosing your lights .If you want the light down choose a down facing lampholder, dont drop them to low as the GLARE from the globes in your eyes every time they are on is annoying as, every lit pendant you showed had an incandescent globe so if your going to use Fluro globes they will look worse.LED globes with a cleeear glass would be best. Avoid carbon filament even though they look great its a low light output. Depending on your budget take a look at Mondoluce on line they have some amazing glass pendants from Italy and in multiple sizes.

I would remove the globe, then with hot soapy water wash the entire outside of glass pendant and if your hand can fit, the inside as well. Maybe even a quick spray of a cleaning product like Ajax spray and wipe to get the grease off the outside, before wiping over the entire glass pendant. Obviously you will need a ladder to stand on to reach pendant safely. Make sure the glass is room temperature, not hot.
