One of the main features of the space is the natural lighting. The windows allow someone to feel they are in their own private oasis. The wide plank European oak floors, with a brushed finish, contribute to the warmth felt in this bathroom, along with warm neutrals, whites and grays. The counter tops are a stunning Calcatta Latte marble as is the basket weaved shower floor, 1x1 square mosaics separating each row of the large format, rectangular tiles, also marble. Lighting is key in any bathroom and there is more than sufficient lighting provided by Ralph Lauren, by Circa Lighting. Classic, custom designed cabinetry optimizes the space by providing plenty of storage for toiletries, linens and more. The clients enjoy having friends over to watch movies or slide shows from recent travels, but they did not want the TV to be a focal point. The team’s solution was to mount a flat screen TV on a recessed wall mounting bracket that extends and swivels for optimal viewing positions, yet rests flat against the wall when not in use. A DVD player, cable box and other attachments remotely connect to the TV from a storage location in the kitchen desk area. An existing house was deconstructed to make room for 7200 SF of new ground up construction including a main house, pool house, and lanai. This hillside home was built through a phased sequence of extensive excavation and site work, complicated by a single point of entry. Site walls were built using true dry stacked stone and concrete retaining walls faced with sawn veneer.
