This terracotta feature wall is one of our favourite areas in the home. To create interest in this special area between the kitchen and open living area, we installed wood pieces on the wall and painted them this gorgeous terracotta colour. The furniture is an eclectic mix of retro and nostalgic pieces which are playful, yet sophisticated for the young family who likes to entertain.

The dining and kitchen area lend itself to causal dining in style. The lake view is seen through the glass upper cabinets and the bay window, which makes up the walls of the kitchen. Cabinets are custom made of teak and a hidden pantry and dish buffet is the anchor on the opposite side of the dining room. The art work centered between the teak cabinet is a focal point for the dinner guests. Opposite the kitchen, an over scale mixed media art panel adorns the rose colored accent wall. A series of three pendant lights illuminate the dining table. The dining chairs are clad in soft yellow ochre leather, and the table top is of Wenge wood. Photo by Roger Turk.

A dining area fit for a King and Queen. In the past, royals were known for dressing their homes in dramatic coloring, red being a popular choice. We had a lot of fun creating this style, as we used fiery crimsons, refined patterns, and bold accents of gold and crystal, which was perfect for this large dining room that sits ten! Project designed by Michelle Yorke Interior Design Firm in Bellevue. Serving Redmond, Sammamish, Issaquah, Mercer Island, Kirkland, Medina, Clyde Hill, and Seattle. Along the fireplace, the existing brick is exposed to save on finishes, but also add a rustic texture to the space, in contrast with the clean, modern white finishes. To warm up the space, warm walnut furnishings are introduced.
