The couple has a large family to feed and when family comes to visit - the open concept kitchen, loads of storage and countertop space as well as giant kitchen island has transformed this space into the family gathering spot - lots of room for plenty of cooks in this kitchen! Tucked into the corner is a thoughtful kitchen office space. Possibly our favorite detail is the green custom painted island with inset bar sink, making this not only a great functional space but as requested by the homeowner, the island is an exact paint match to their dining room table that leads into the grand kitchen and ties everything together so beautifully.

Cindy Juillet of Reico Kitchen & Bath in King of Prussia, PA collaborated with Greg Amey to design a beautiful Old World inspired French Country style kitchen featuring Ultracraft Cabinetry. The kitchen showcases the Ultracraft Oakland Park door style in Maple with a Moon Bay Brown Linen Low Sheen finish. The perimeter countertop is Valente Pearl quartz by Corian, while the island countertop features Nocturne by LG Viatera. “We appreciate Cindy’s advice in making design choices, both in the details and in the overall layout, while at the same time honoring our wishes. We wanted the look of an Old World/French Country kitchen to match the French Normandy style of our older home. We got it! The layout of the large space makes food prep and entertaining easy and fun,” said the client. Cindy mentioned that the biggest challenge designing this kitchen was the space was very large. “The client wanted to combine the existing small kitchen and dining room into one large kitchen and also have enough room for a 12-seat dining table. I wanted to make sure that everything would flow and be cohesive. They love to cook so I incorporated a 48" stove with plenty of counter top space on either side,” said Cindy. Our client lives close to Hampstead Village in north London in a house built to their specifications around 18 years ago. The style is a fusion of Nash meeting Cape Cod, combining clever use of brick and clapboard with one annexe. They wanted a bright, classic-contemporary, countrified kitchen, which would blend seamlessly with their living room with views onto the garden. The room was extended backwards and a huge, glass roof was introduced with a clever choice of colours and finishes, bringing what had previously been a dark, narrow area to life. We made this timeless design by using plain, front-framed units with Shaker-style doors, which were hand-painted in a bespoke, sage colour we prepared ourselves. A tambour door was put in next to the sink run which is perfect for housing everyday appliances like the kettle and toaster – keeping the runs of work surfaces clear while allowing easy access when they are needed.

This young family of four needed more natural light, more rooms, and a reconfiguration of space inside and out to fully live the life they envisioned. So we opened up the kitchen by removing two walls and created a 16'x20' (2-level) addition, off the back with eight new Marvin windows. We expanded the kitchen footprint, adding custom cabinets and an island with quartz countertops, all bathed in natural light. The addition also created dedicated space for artistic endeavors above, new bedrooms for the girls below, a workout space, and access to new outdoor living. Counting the foyer Chandelier, we added 30 new lights to the home, most being dimmable LEDs. Let there be light! This remodel dramatically changed and improved the lives of these homeowners. That's not a happy accident. That is our mission.

You want everything within easy reach when you’re working in the kitchen and look beautiful at the same time. It’s a good idea to take note of both when browsing our photo gallery.

2. Consider Your Space to Determine Your Kitchen Layout

Firstly, consider the space you have, and the limitations that come with it. Do you have a small kitchen and need to maximise your workspace and storage?
