The wood you are looking at, Goncalo Alves (Astronium Fraxinifolium) is sometimes recognized as Tiger Wood (no relation to the golf legend) and is a truly exotic and highly desirable hardwood. It is often used in fine furniture building and is extremely dense at 62 lbs. per cubic foot making for a particularly desirable decking because it is insect resistant, has a natural waxy and water resistant surface, and is dimensionally stable (doesn’t warp). It has been installed with adhesive and a rather time consuming process of cutting slots into the sides of the boards with a biscuit joiner and then fastening it down with tabs and stainless steel screws.
