Don't miss this kitchen! The space isn't large, but we made the most of every inch of this gorgeous kitchen! We started with raised panel white cabinets, engineered quartz countertop, an 8 burner stove w/ double oven & pot filler. We draw you in with a gray subway tile herringbone tile backsplash and a stunning custom made wood hood! Notice the corner pantry cabinet to maximize space. The island is a gorgeous green beadboard cabinetry with granite top. Lastly , the beautiful chandelier finishes off the space and this family is ready to cook!

The new kitchen extension has been designed for a young family who wanted to have a space for modern day living and a stronger connection to their beautiful garden. Due to the existing levels on the site, the garden was nearly a metre below and accessed via a set of external narrow steps. We proposed the demolition of an existing outbuilding which obscured the view of the garden and reduced natural daylight. We designed a new rear extension built on the back of the house to create a split-level open plan space connected with internal steps. This enabled the new kitchen floor to be level with the outside garden. It now provides a direct physical and visual connection to the garden without any level changes. Two arched doors have been designed to provide level access and frames the long views into the garden. An up-and-over glass box allows natural light to pour into the space and provides views into the garden and up into the sky. The base of the glass box is curved which also acts as a great window seat. The external envelope of the extension has been cladded with timber which has been charred on-site, using the ancient Japanese technique of ‘shou-sugi-ban’. nnu House is named in line with the geometric shapes of the doors and windows when looking onto the external facade. The ‘n’ represent the arched doors and the ‘u’ for the up-and-over glass box with a curved base.

Featured in House and Home magazine, this Italian Farmhouse inspired kitchen strikes an authentic chord. Ample counter space was included so the family could make homemade pizza and pasta and a small pantry prep area was included in the design to house a salami slicer. This space is subtle, earthy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for large family gatherings.

After photos of this Stanford CT county Tuscan farmhouse kitchen renovation. We were able to update this space to be a modern classic farmhouse while keeping the clients personal style to flow with the rest of the main floor. Fieldstone cabinetry allowed us to put the perfect touches of color, style, & function our clients expected. Moss Green awakens this space as Spring has sprung. It glows in this new space serving the pop of color we did not want to loose from the green marble clients wanted to salvage, we were able to repurpose a portion to tie in the new color cabinets, custom matching the maple wood opening and adding new matching shelves. Antique bronze hardware, Carrara Marble countertops and backsplash pairs perfectly with the Esmeralda Marble. Using a new mitered Rembrandt door in simply white and moss green allows us to updated this space from the traditional raised panel in hospital white that didn't allow the space to feel like home.

While renovating their home located on a horse farm in Bedford, NY, it wasn’t surprising this husband and wife (who also is an equestrian) wanted their house to have a “barn feel”. To start, sourced reclaimed wood was used on the walls, floors and ceiling beams. This traditional kitchen, designed by Paulette Gambacorta, features Bilotta Collection cabinetry in a flush flat panel custom green paint with a glaze on maple. An added detail of a “crossbuck” end on the peninsula was custom made from reclaimed wood and inspired by the look of barn doors. Reclaimed wood shelves on iron brackets replaced upper cabinets for easy access. The marble countertops have a hand cut edge detail to resemble the look of when the stone was first quarried. An antique carpenter’s work bench was restored by the builder, for use as an island and extra work station. An apron front sink and a wains panel backsplash completed the barn look and feel. Download our free ebook, Creating the Ideal Kitchen. DOWNLOAD NOW The homeowners built their traditional Colonial style home 17 years’ ago. It was in great shape but needed some updating. Over the years, their taste had drifted into a more contemporary realm, and they wanted our help to bridge the gap between traditional and modern. We decided the layout of the kitchen worked well in the space and the cabinets were in good shape, so we opted to do a refresh with the kitchen. The original kitchen had blond maple cabinets and granite countertops. This was also a great opportunity to make some updates to the functionality that they were hoping to accomplish. After re-finishing all the first floor wood floors with a gray stain, which helped to remove some of the red tones from the red oak, we painted the cabinetry Benjamin Moore “Repose Gray” a very soft light gray. The new countertops are hardworking quartz, and the waterfall countertop to the left of the sink gives a bit of the contemporary flavor. We reworked the refrigerator wall to create more pantry storage and eliminated the double oven in favor of a single oven and a steam oven. The existing cooktop was replaced with a new range paired with a Venetian plaster hood above. The glossy finish from the hood is echoed in the pendant lights. A touch of gold in the lighting and hardware adds some contrast to the gray and white. A theme we repeated down to the smallest detail illustrated by the Jason Wu faucet by Brizo with its similar touches of white and gold (the arrival of which we eagerly awaited for months due to ripples in the supply chain – but worth it!). The original breakfast room was pleasant enough with its windows looking into the backyard. Now with its colorful window treatments, new blue chairs and sculptural light fixture, this space flows seamlessly into the kitchen and gives more of a punch to the space. The original butler’s pantry was functional but was also starting to show its age. The new space was inspired by a wallpaper selection that our client had set aside as a possibility for a future project. It worked perfectly with our pallet and gave a fun eclectic vibe to this functional space. We eliminated some upper cabinets in favor of open shelving and painted the cabinetry in a high gloss finish, added a beautiful quartzite countertop and some statement lighting. The new room is anything but cookie cutter. Next the mudroom. You can see a peek of the mudroom across the way from the butler’s pantry which got a facelift with new paint, tile floor, lighting and hardware. Simple updates but a dramatic change! The first floor powder room got the glam treatment with its own update of wainscoting, wallpaper, console sink, fixtures and artwork. A great little introduction to what’s to come in the rest of the home. The whole first floor now flows together in a cohesive pallet of green and blue, reflects the homeowner’s desire for a more modern aesthetic, and feels like a thoughtful and intentional evolution. Our clients were wonderful to work with! Their style meshed perfectly with our brand aesthetic which created the opportunity for wonderful things to happen. We know they will enjoy their remodel for many years to come! Photography by Margaret Rajic Photography
