This area is left open with a low fence that is visible from the driveway. An ocean of smooth cut stones mainly inhabit this area with vibrant plants for balance.

Bold Colourful Area Rugs

Wicklewood

A Wicklewood original, Cube is a handwoven flatweave inspired by Scandinavian design in a classic combination of colours with a plain cream field. This handwoven rug has an air of relaxed sophistication and is certain to add a sense of hygge to your living space. This rug measures 5 feet wide by 8 feet long (152cm by 243cm) and is a flatweave rug handwoven in India. This rug is woven from blended New Zealand wool. Flatweave rugs are made using a weaving technique in which the yarn is completely intertwined, so there is not any yarn protuding to create a pile. The warp strands are woven with the weft strands to create the foundation of the rug and the pattern. The texture and design of the rug is dependent on changing colour, size and texture of the weft strands and each rug will vary. The process of weaving flatweave rugs is very time and labour intensive and the end results are colourful intricately designed rugs show the same design on both sides.

Classical Japanese Garden

The Japanese Garden

The images of this garden show a very detailed work of Japanese techniques. This is a classic tsuboniwa except for the input deck, and fence it was decided to make them a more modern touch, but with classical aspects of Japanese gardening. When raised the idea, we find some problems to solve. The first was the entrance who divided the garden in the middle and the second one a large slope in the right side. The first solution was to create an entry in style wooden walkway, that had performed zigzag dynamism and greater width to be able to move comfortably. The second solution to the steep slope, was divided in half space with a rock wall also placed Japanese style. This created a karesansui style area . Rocks were used, weighing approximately 300-500 kg each. Access to the rear is through a nobedan (Japanese style stone way). As we walk among the ancient oaks that exist on the property, we got to the separation of the rear. Here a fence that has a door in Japanese style developed in our carpentry was created. In the pond area, we decided to create a space where you can sit and enjoy the garden. Undoubtedly the transformation undergone this garden has been amazing and very laborious.

How to Create an Asian Garden for Your Home

Depending on which style you’re going for, be sure to know what makes an Asian garden and if it’s appropriate for your climate. You may want to consider adding a deck or other landscaping features, but the plants you choose will mostly dictate your style and what kind of ongoing maintenance is required. Don’t worry if your backyard isn’t very spacious - there are many plants that can thrive even in a small space and allow you to turn your space into a little paradise of your own, regardless of size.

Decide which plants to use

The greenery you choose is critical to your look. For example, if you’re trying to create a tropical garden palm trees and bamboo are your go-to options. Other popular options are golden cane palm trees and fern for ground cover. From there you can add some colour with bright flowers like frangipani, hibiscus or bromeliads. All these are actually quite hardy plants, so once established, your tropical garden is actually quite easy to maintain. Use this structure and apply it to your style. Research which plants you need to set your base for an Asian garden and go from there.

Add some decor

If the plants don’t quite do it for you yet, or if you want to add some extra wow-factor, consider adding some extra features. Even if you can’t accommodate a swimming pool, hot tub or pond, you could look at smaller water features. Simple rocks can also have a great effect, while statues and gnomes will add some extra character. Don’t forget to add some furniture so you have a nice place to sit and enjoy your garden!
