The Mud and Wood House
Eclectic Family Room
The Family Room is divided into three areas: the dining area is surrounded by windows with a 9ft. ceiling - this is a bright and airy space; the lounge area focuses on the wood-burning stove (with backboiler - the only heat source for the 1400 sq. ft. house) - it is cosier with an 8ft. ceiling; around the corner (to the left) is the kitchen. It is still connected to the family room, so that the person preparing a meal is still part of the action in the family room, but is tucked away enough so that the mess need not be distracting.
