We have undertaken 2 renovations and Vanessa was the architect on both occasions. In fact, we delayed our 2nd renovation to coincide with her return to Australia so she could be on-site for the job. Vanessa has a relaxed and friendly manner that belies her expertise and talent. Whilst her ideas and recommendations are outstanding, Vanessa's great strength is her ability to listen to and understand what we were hoping to achieve and then to make it happen. Twelve months on from completion and we continue to be blown away with how happy we are with Vanessa's design. We love the home that Vanessa has designed for us and truly couldn't be happier. The design takes in so many considerations - it's a home for entertaining and a home for living; it accommodates people having their own spaces but also areas for people to interact; the space is utilised extremely well with the roof and under deck areas utilised to create maximum storage and an additional room. The design is very clever. Additionally, Vanessa has a great approach to working with the builder and sub-contractors and whilst you often hear about builder / architect difficulties Vanessa's approach and way of working with people ensures a happy and positive outcome for all parties. He knows his stuff so we got through Council quickly, which isn't typical of a strawbale development application in the Blue Mountains. “Jonathan Spicer was our architect on the design and build of extensiosn to a 1920s house, refurbished some 10 years earlier. The work included reconfiguration of bedrooms and bathroom, 2nd and 3rd floor extensions and a new outdoor cabana. His design was intuitive and respectful to the existing structure. He was very responsive to our ideas and offered timely and creative solutions. His knowledge of planning requirements was extensive and his communications with council timely and effective. “I worked with Christian Grennan of Kreis Grennan when redeveloping two Torrens title dwellings in Glebe. It was a tight site with a dilapidated cottage and the neighbor’s didn’t want any more dwellings in the area. Kreis Grennan organized a meeting with the neighbors at a local pub prior to council submission and presented the concept design. It was a very positive experience, where everyone could ask questions and get honest answers. Not always answers they wanted to hear but answers that were considered. The meeting made the whole process run smoothly including the development application and subdivision. Construction drawings were produced with enormous attention to detail so my team knew what was required. The end result is fantastic. I would be happy to recommend Kreis Grennan to anyone looking for a quality architect”
