He knows his stuff so we got through Council quickly, which isn't typical of a strawbale development application in the Blue Mountains. The home that we have built together is beautiful, practical and comfortable. Jaime has project managed for us and we have stayed within budget. There has been a lot to handle and throughout the build Jaime has been a great communicator. He has often suggested alternatives that made our home more comfortable, practical, environmentally appropriate or more economical to build and we are so grateful for that. “Vanessa is amazing! So much so that I've given her the nickname "Sydney's Best", abbreviated from "Sydney's Best Architect". We have undertaken 2 renovations and Vanessa was the architect on both occasions. In fact, we delayed our 2nd renovation to coincide with her return to Australia so she could be on-site for the job. Vanessa has a relaxed and friendly manner that belies her expertise and talent. Whilst her ideas and recommendations are outstanding, Vanessa's great strength is her ability to listen to and understand what we were hoping to achieve and then to make it happen. Twelve months on from completion and we continue to be blown away with how happy we are with Vanessa's design. We love the home that Vanessa has designed for us and truly couldn't be happier. The wonderful thing is that it isn't just a home for adults or a home for kids. Vanessa has designed a home that is to be lived in and everyone living in the house loves it. The design takes in so many considerations - it's a home for entertaining and a home for living; it accommodates people having their own spaces but also areas for people to interact; the space is utilised extremely well with the roof and under deck areas utilised to create maximum storage and an additional room. The design is very clever. Additionally, Vanessa has a great approach to working with the builder and sub-contractors and whilst you often hear about builder / architect difficulties Vanessa's approach and way of working with people ensures a happy and positive outcome for all parties. We are now looking at developing some apartments and wouldn't think of using anyone else. In fact, we can't wait to work with Vanessa again. Great person. Wonderful architect.”

We had a early 1900’s weatherboard house which was in serious decay, with his guidance and design we restored the original part of the property and substantially extended the house into a modern, user friendly home. He was not deterred when we were after changes, tweeks, to the design. Extremely helpful and even more important, we were on budget. “We had been contemplating renovating for a few years. The house was dated & tired. We had a few companies look at our house but never felt they had the right solutions. The house was basically a combination of an old federation house with a 2 story addition that was done before we bought. While the house was comfortable it always felt a bit like 2 separate houses. James design came up with the best solution that totally made the function & appearance of our home work. We had a pretty strict budget & didn't want the budget to blow out, which is often the case. James design were also given the task of project managing the construction plus advising on finishes. “Douglas McNamara from Earthed Architecture was the best decision made in regards to the renovation of our home. From a financial point of view. Doug's design was a positive investment. The return of capital from his design far exceeded the cost to hire his services. Before we found Earthed Architecture, we had a ridiculous quote from another architect. That was just to get a design passed through council that a builder & I designed initially. That didn't include any design work. Doug's fee included design and getting passed through council and still came in well under the other architects fee. What I am saying is that Earthed Architecture's fees are super reasonable and the quality and service is top shelf. More importantly, from a family point of view, the design Doug came up with was nothing short of spectacular. He came up with ideas we would never think of in a million years. Our house is a 70s' fibro and the design Doug produced you would think it was a house out of a luxury magazine. The photos' included show the house before and Doug's schematic design. Doug's interior design looks even more spectacular. I will update the images of the actual build one the job is complete. Doug is humble and goes above and beyond. No fuss, polite, professional and straight to the point. Doing what is necessary to produce the best possible outcome. Spending hours on getting the configuration just right. Even when he proposed the design to us he was still very humble, unsure if we would like it. Humility is the sign of someone truly great. No matter how good he is, he still questions himself and always pushes himself to be the best he can. I can not recommend Doug and Earthed Architecture highly enough. You will not go wrong.”
