“We began our search for a home design by browsing multiple websites and just could not find a plan that bests suited our needs. We were referred to SM Monette Designs by our builder, Greg Hall of Ace Builders, and couldn't have been more pleased with the design work and collaboration that we received. Our lot had a very restrictive building envelope which made our project quite a bit more complicated than most jobs in the area. Susan was very flexible when it came to our requests and she gave us welcomed advice with regard to modifications that would provide the best possible product based on our requirements. The quoted costs were accurate and stayed right on budget. Susan was always very responsive to our email and phone calls so I would give her a top rating with regard to her customer service. The coordination between her, our builder, and the engineers were seamless. We would highly recommend SM Monette Designs for any home building project and should we ever have another we would definitely send the work her way.”

“Go Architects are a pleasure to work with. Sara, was always able to meet our schedule, participate in meetings, and easy to consult with or see her in the office. All architectural drawings were emailed as PDF files and backed up with full scale drawings we could use on the job. Questions were addressed promptly. We hired Go architects because of their experience with historic construction and a modern perspective and concern for our needs. Go Architects does quality work, and is growing. I highly recommend them. Not only am I the home owner, I have been in the construction business for many years, and they have been a real pleasure to work with.”

“After putting together our wish list and considering designing our house ourselves, my wife and I did some looking and decided to purchase plans for the Island Cottage from Southern Cottages. This design had all the features we wanted. We are self-building not contracting the construction. Construction is not my profession. I was sure I'd have to do a lot of research to get it right. The quality and accuracy of the plans have sure made it easier than I expected. The design went through the permitting process without a hitch. (The building official even commented on how the plans facilitated his review.) As for customer service, I can't say enough about the positive experience I've had. I thought that once I had the plans in hand that would be the last interaction I'd have with the architect. Not so. Mike and his staff have kept in touch with me, and I with them. When a couple of questions came up that I thought would be best answered by them, I sent an email. Within a short time, I got the answers I needed. The main house is now framed in, and we're ready to start the wrap-around porch. Overall, I've found our experience with Southern Cottages to be exceptional and the plans were a great value for the price.”

“I had a good experience working with Jodi. She had been referred through several neighbors. I was specifically looking for someone with expertise in lighting and color. Jodi was able to help me with those things as well as room layout, tile selection and patterns, lighting, kitchen hardware, bathroom and kitchen plumbing. She designed a deck for me, helped me with where to hang artwork and photos... I could go on. She was always honest, which I appreciated. If she wanted me to consider something, she would make a strong case for it. She truly does understand design and has actually helped me understand it a little more. She also made me avoid making mistakes by pointing things out that I would never have thought of. I would highly recommend her.”

“Yes, We used Michael McLeod for a beautiful beach home that we are building. We liked the plan that was a standard plan and then added some modifications. He accommodated our changes and worked with us on all parts of the design. We liked the plan since it had some unusual design elements and was different than any other one we had seen. He was able to more quickly modify the plan versus other architect which would have cost the same or more to change another plan. We needed to move fast at one point and he made it in time. He was licensed for the beach which our builder needed and the town accepted. He seemed expensive but I think these changes would have cost just as much anywhere. The cost of the original plan was appropriate I thought. Overall, it is working out as expected and will be a dream home for us.”
