“I used John for a project of coming up with a design of three houses. His dedication to the project and interaction with me was above an beyond. He always listened to my ideas and never brushed any off. He was very meticulous and dedicated to the whole project.”

“After interviewing 2 (boring) architects, James Fowler was the last meeting of the day! We nearly chased him down the street when he left. His building knowledge, enthusiasm, energy and ideas far outshone anyone else’s. Over the following year, we worked with James, Rob Ben and Peter. All were fantastic! The level of professionalism, organisation and knowledge was second to none. I was warned that you would “fall out with your architect or builder”. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We received the highest standard of customer service and expertise. Every part of our large building project was dealt with perfectly and we felt very looked after every step of the way. I would highly recommend Fowler’s and have recommended them already to several people. We would use them again in the future. Thank you to them for making such a big project very stress free. “We employed Milton Architects to help us with a major (for us) project in transforming our rather quirky 1911 house. The project took c10 months and we made it more difficult for the architects and contractors by choosing to live in different corners of the house while work carried on around us. We are delighted with the end result. Mike Milton brought many innovative elements to the overall design and equal emphasis was placed on the practical considerations such as construction, plumbing, electrics and sourcing. The project incorporated constructional changes, renovations and improvements, two new extensions and a few demolitions. MA handled the project management very well, first through Mike and then his colleague Ros Leverett. The project - having allowed for the constraints and problems encountered along the way (asbestos, rotten timbers, crumbling foundations ...) was very close to the original budget and timescale, and the interactions with the construction company exemplary. So in conclusion we are very pleased to recommend Milton Architects highly and unreservedly for any project remotely similar to our own.”

“John took our ideas for a new kitchen extension and developed the plans and proposal so that we gained planning permission without any issues. John also attended the parish council planning meeting to ensure there were no issues at this stage. With his help and guidance a specification was developed from which we were able to have a number of contractors bid, going on to select one to complete the build. Although we knew exactly what we wanted out of this project we initially had trouble engaging builders before we started working with John, due to the unusual construction methods being used. With John’s expertise, advice and attention to detail on-board the project was completed and we have been enjoying the kitchen extension for the last six months.”

“We hired Ed after a personal recommendation to redesign our Edwardian cottage in the New Forest - not a straightforward job as the property is within a National Park, Conservation Area and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Ed designed the extensions to fit in with the existing building, remodelled the floor plans, ran the planning application and then put the drawings together for Building regulations and the builder. We couldn't be happier with the results - Ed really maximised the space by suggesting a side/rear extension, loft conversion and remodelling the inside space. We now have a house that flows with the space we needed - an extra bedroom, extra WC and a large open plan kitchen/diner leading out to the garden. Ed made so many great suggestions, including vaulting the ceiling in the kitchen which really improves the space and light. The planning application was on time and without problem. Highly recommended.”

“We hired Nick and Paul at Raylian to lead a tricky 550 m2 office conversion into residential space in a prime location central Chiswick. Along with the practice personal creative skills I was very impressed by their technical know how. The teams knowledge of building regulations, local authority planning requirements and technical building skills saved me a substantial amount in architects fees and it was comforting to experience their confidence when addressing the builders and trades and the respect they attracted. The creative design planning stage and specification for finishes and furnishings was professional and stress free. It was great to have a designer sketch their ideas while explaining their thoughts. Discussing ideas in 3D is a real advantage. Given the licence to express themselves they came up with some really great ideas. Project management was equally important, especially with all the H&S requirements attached to the industry these days. I also felt once the budget was approved they made a good effort to protect it right through to completion. Raylian are a one stop shop for any size of residential project and I am happy to give them a 5 star review. AW. Chiswick.”

dwell design

“dwell design began working for us on the extension and refurbishment of our new home after the plan drawing company we had initially been recommended totally let us down. By comparison Anthony and the team were thorough, interested, passionate and knowledgeable with much appreciated attention to detail. I felt that Anthony took the time to understand what it was that we were looking for in our home and tailored the plans to suit what we really needed, coming up with a design that worked for us. The final result is all we had hoped for and more and would not have happened without all the hard work from the dwell team. They have all been a pleasure to work with.”

“Matt was calm and capable. I approached him to help with designs for a side return extension in a fairly typical, slightly wonky victorian terrace. He did a great job of explaining things and talking me through what was possible vs what was viable! He was also responsive to queries and completed work in good time. The outcome has been a space transformed from dark and pokey to light and open. He suggested sliding doors instead of bifolds to optimise the view and I love them. Doing an extension can be stressful but it has transformed how I live. Matt's design - optimising light via a large panel of glass in the ceiling and big sliding doors makes such a difference despite being north facing.”
