Need help for my exterior paint colour and exterior design
Comments (14)Hi, I like the overall concept of the darkish grey, it suits the home. I am a colour consultant and have been working with the Dulux range for 17 years and you are on the right track with the Guild Grey. The Dulux Signature will give you a dark blue house. Another option if Simone Weil which is just a bit lighter than the Guild Grey, if you find that one too dark. Sample pots and A4 brush outs onto white cardboard are the best way to decide, because computer programs give an overall impression of the "look" but are not accurate with colour choices, you can't beat the human eye. All the best, it's going to look great....See MoreExterior Design Dilema
Comments (2)Usually wrought iron balustrade was used in units of the 1960's so your building may be older than twenty years. It is impossible to give considered advice without knowing what your building looks like. I was recently involved in a project for a block of units that were built in the 1970's that had similar code issues with the balcony balustrades, and had them replaced with something similar to what your Council of Owners is considering. Here are some before and after photos: If you are on the ground floor you may want to have your balustrade higher then the required minium for security. Some of the balconies to the side of this block had the balustrades built much higher than required for privacy and security. Best of luck, Dr Retro of Dr Retro House Calls...See MoreUgly Brown Brick exterior design dilemma
Comments (20)I would go with Monument. The house is dark brown so adding some relatively small surfmist elements wouldn’t change the perception of the house. At the photo above the surfmist works well as the roof is visible from the ground and it’s surfmist as well. The brown brick has those dark spots which go well with Monument. The house will look dark but elegant. In order to make the house more cheerful I would invest into adding as much greenery as possible. You might even think about adding couple relatively large pots along your side wall and/ or at the front right. You can also paint the front door any cheerful colour you like....See MoreExterior Design: Roof & Gutter Colours with an Ironstone Fence
Comments (8)Sorry, yes of course. Here's the fence. It's Ironstone which makes me think it wont work with a woodland grey roof. We are open to making the roof colourbond steel instead of tiled and therefore changing the colour. At some point we'll likely change our windows too so everything is up for grabs. Basically the fence is the newest colour and so that + the bricks are probably the two colours set. The rest is up for grabs....See MoreTimandra Design & Landscaping
