Hi Kris, loving the niche idea... I think it or they will look great whichever way you go, it's all a matter of taste, but maybe have a think about the items (and size) you'd like to display before deciding... here's just a few ideas for you... good luck 1. If the niche is being 'built-out' with gyprock from the brick pillar (as I imagine the bricks can't be pulled out without affecting the structural support) then I'd make the niche deeper, say to the end/edge of the breakfast bar (which will have an overhang of at least 300mm anyway) with a wooden insert and at the bottom of the false wall create some storage, cabinet or drawers (you could even add wooden shelves for books or display)... e.g: Other ideas... 2. Two plastered niches with led lighting 3. One big niche with wooden insert, downlight and glass shelves for display 4. Three niches with wooden inserts & downlights x3 (note add. electrical cost)

Ok first, the 750 wide bath gives 250 more wall space between shower and bath to allow a 750 wide towel rail there allowing for bath sheet size towels. For me this is the most important. Depending on how many towel rails you need you could consider hanging them on walls at back or side of bath too. This addresses functionality first. Opt C out. Niches. Cutting and tiling a niche hole in a brick wall is expensive compared to framing a little height change at end of bath. Niches are also harder to clean and will offer less shelf space. But will add width to area not reduce it. I don’t see an issue with messiness having it on same wall as shower niche. It’s your choice. A fuller floor plan may also help people commenting. Good luck

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, all fabulous and am considering each option given I had no idea what to do!! Unfortunately, am not handy, so covering the entire (very lengthy) wall would be too difficult for me, but also a terrific idea, might have to hand that job over to someone capable :-) This is such a great forum, I don't post that often, but was at my wits end wondering what to do .... It is an odd spot to have a niche. I’d add a shelf midway, perhaps wood with a trailing plant on both levels with a couple of decorative items. Or if you can find an artwork that fits with the rest of the decor I’d add that up top, a trailing plant below, lose the candle and decant the room spray into a a bottle that matches.
