Hi Robin, Window treatment with louver's Blinds or full length curtains may be installed in conjunction with your louvre windows to help darken interior spaces or provide shading from the sun in any room if required. This also provides for privacy, light, thermal insulation etc. inside your property. When selecting your louver's, remember that the top blade can be fixed to assist with the installation of the blind or curtain above the window. Low profile handles should also be selected as the shape provides a proper fit that won’t get in the way of the curtains when opening or closing them, especially when in the open position. In an internal room, choose a high mounted track with a wave curtain running across the whole width of the window. Also place the curtain rod as high above the window frame to really frame the entire window and cover the louver blinds when closed. This also makes the space appear much larger than what it is and allows the eye to roam to the top of the curtain, making the space also appear to have a higher ceiling than it has currently especially with vertical stripe curtains. what a lovely room which needs to look the way that makes you happy but you may find that the shutters also get in the way when opened..i wonder how venetians fixed inside the window reveals and directly to the doors would suit? Sheers are gorgeous but i agree the curtain pole doesn't look right: the sheer curtain tops should cover the pole (depending on the track this may only need a different hook to hold the pleats up higher) and as you need something that can be pushed completely out of the way a different pole with proper drawstrings with the curtains tops covering the poles may be the answer: a chat with a specialist who does shutters as well curtains (Spotlight?) should help but i hope you keep the sheers

It depends on the outlook, the privacy required, the orientation, and how much heat it gets from the sun in summer. I would suggest living with it for a year to understand exactly what you need. As the windows are non-openable I would suggest avoiding anything that requires maintenance such as timber battens, or anything that provides suitable nesting potential for birds, as the droppings from nests can make an awful mess. If money was no option I would consider adjustable metal louvres, perhaps mounted vertically, that could be opened and closed depending on the time of year. Resear ch Vergola. Hi Susan I would not specify shutters for louvre windows. Apart from curtains, another possible option would be a blind (roman, roller etc) outside mounted ie on the the wall, as it’s likely that when the window is closed the lever won’t be an issue, but probably will protrude past the window trim when open. A customised solution could be to mount the blind so it protrudes further out from the wall than normal, which has downsides that should be weighed up for your particular situation and desires. Motorisation will take the effort out of opening and closing blinds or curtains, and it is easier for you to decide now for hardwire motorisation before the roughing in stage.
