That's a tricky spot and shape. Do you need more benchspace and would consider a roll-out island with shelves? (It would need to be custom-made, but so are most things for that space, I guess)
It's probably best to determine what you actually need then find the solution. Since it tapers, if you are trying t find "off the shelf" type of solution, you could opt for a shallow item on the left, say for example a garbage bin, or a stack of baskets to store vegies or other stuff then you could have a deeper item on the right, like Luke suggested, a roll out stand of baskets with a benchtop on the top.
If you can go custom, I think just a bank of drawers, probably the depth of the left end panel to avoid making it too fiddly would be best, shelves under a bench are a bit akward so best if you go that way that it be to stack things in baskets which you can then lift out and put on bench to sort through. Or a good place for a puppy bed or school bags!
I think getting general suggestions is great, since it might open up ideas about things you may not have considered. Just an observation, but this kitchen seems like a small but efficient kitchen that perhaps does not have to meet the needs of preparing large family meals, rather, it has the essentials and mod cons that meets your needs. I suggest installing a pull out drawer with both a USB and power outlet inside that (or beneath) and a tuck away stool, to use as a hot point to charge and use your tablets, phones etc. Quite a few modern kitchens allow for these hot points to pay bills, order groceries online and only need a drawer for pens, papers, chargers etc, ultimately they end up in a junk drawer or worse on your bench top cluttering up your precious little bench space. Being clever, you can look for a stool that is perhaps a foldout step ladder, to get to overhead cabinets, and make use of any vertical storage you have also. So I'd go with a hot point, aka workstation.
