curtain colour??

This is my 5 year old son's bedroom. I am changing the curtains to something more child appropriate. I have had a quote on cornflower blue curtains but my worry is it will be too blue. There will be full length curtains (drapes) on all three windows with a sheer behind the two larger ones. I had initially thought of blue/grey. Your thoughts would be appreciated

Kids rooms always have lot going on, including colour.

I'd go with good quality drapes in a neutral colour that tones with the walls. Then you don't have to worry about them for years.

I'd use artwork for personality.

Could you go for a darker blue, then it mightn't be too "little boy" for when he gets older but it would still fit in with lots of bright colors and decor in a child's room

Hi, good photos. I would go for a linen look block out drape with a royal blue leading edge (trim on the vertical edges that meet in the middle when closed), and a pale grey sheer behind.

If you are getting eyelet curtains then I think the rod should be the same colour as the metal in the eyelets. The other choice would be a rod the same colour as your door handles etc.

I like the sound of cornflour blue drapes. I think it will make it bright and happy. If you want to make it more kiddy themed, maybe add playful and colourful pelmets. Some patterned fabric with your child's favourite character would look great. You can buy DIY pelmets from spotlight or lincraft & they can be recovered to update as your child grows

Use one of the colours you have in the rugs on the floor, this will then blend in and all the other business of the room comes in Donna covers, art or bits and pieces he has in his room. Should look great.
