Looks like you have a very contemporary look going. Why must they be white? Also they need to be wider than ones you had. 36" across. A bigger chair with chrome legs would look nice. What else is in room?

Consider a burnished oil finish. I believe this to be superior to layers of polyurethane which often cause boards to stick together and show the scratches. It allows boards to expand and contract. If scratched just use oil over thecsctratch and it will disappear. This would still be done by a professional.

Chantelle, what a fab table! I can't tell though if the top is timber, stone, concrete (or the look of) or metal. If you like industrial style then Oskuee's top three images are perfect! The fourth photo is a crossback chair which can suit industrial, Hamptons and modern country. However if you like a modern classic look, then a fully upholstered chair like the style of the one in this link would work. Either colour match the legs to the table or paint them matt black. A straight leg, rather than a taper ( as shown in the link) might be better too. Fabric-wise because the table has clean lines, a self pattern or plain would be best. I made another comment at 12.32am, re rugs. I also chose my table this weekend. It's a lighter colour, as you'll see in my attachments. Not what I initially intended on going for. Originally I had my heart set on something a little darker than my floorboards, however I went for something lighter. Check out my latest query at 12.32am.
