Thanks all for the comments! I have styled the rest of the house to a T but the master always seems to take a back seat when life gets too busy after the initial moving in stage. I have removed the wedding photos (actually, they're only there because my hubby is away for many months and I like to be reminded of him) - but, I agree - they don't suit! We have bedsides that match the bed but this space is too narrow for them to fit in, so the current ones are a stop gap while we wait and see if hubby's work is going to move us elsewhere next year or not. If we are staying, new bedsides or bedroom suite are the on the agenda. Based on tips here, I've turned the doona over for a simple white with navy dots pattern, removed the wedding pics, and simply put my woven wreath on one of the hooks, with the other hook to be filled when I find something. Either that, or I'll find one large b&w print and put the wreath on the side wall. Thanks again for the helpful suggestions! I think the reasons the website photo looks so attractive is that it was probably arranged by a stylist and shot by a professional photographer with additional lighting. Yours could look just as lovely maddieyalda with the great suggestions above. I particularly like Style & Design's blush recommendation. Also, comparing the first photo with your last one, the European pillows were arranged right next to one another, meeting in the middle of the bedhead. And then lighter contrasting cushions of varying texture and shape were arranged in front of them. And the light grey top sheet was turned down. All those details created a beautiful contrast between all the elements. I'm sure if you did this, you could achieve the desired effect. my suggestion, probably similar to siriusky without base corners, has about 2.4 m of Lshaped counter with a *narrow drop in sink on the short arm, open underneath (without any corner cabinets) and 750mm wide drawers or cabinets near the glass door..space for a stacked (or top mount and wall hung) washer and dryer between the sink and blind corner for tall cabinet for vacuum, ironing board etc with shelves above and tall shallow end cabinet storage for linen? .. almost 2m of standard wall cabinets and a drip drying rack over the sink...there should be space for all the usual laundry supplies and equipment including twin tall clothes basket under the open bench and potential ceiling height storage above the ironing board for suitcases, xmas storage etc...*the narrow drop in sink is to allow a little more generous width for the stacked washer and dryer although reducing the tall storage cabinet to 500mm deep would also allow for a wider sink cabinet and doors and shelves in the tall cabinets should be sized to suit the items to be stored ie ironing board, vacuum and brooms should fit under about 1200mm and the blind corner should be for storage of the rarely used steamer or carper shampooer etc) and storage of vacuum cleaner hoses and ironing boards can be made much easier with specifically designed hanging racks to be attached to the wall inside the storage cabinets and available from IKEA etc...

@Chris Boss I’m getting the Lana Upholstered Bed from West Elm because I love the curve of the bead head and the colour. There’s a bed you can get that looks like linen and the whole upholstery comes off you you can chuck it in the wash I would get it but I just don’t love the colour like I do the Lana.
