Please help - colour of window frames and other trims
Comments (3)White and cream can work together and it is a great idea to paint all your trim white to freshen and lighten your room. Whether your cream blinds look dirty if you paint the trim white will really depend on the cream tone/shade of your blinds and possibly the material they are made from. Remember the colours will look different of an evening under artificial lights than they do during the day under natural light. We have uPVC white window frames with classic cream architraves. I recently purchased some block out roller blinds and spent hours agonising over whether to match the windows or the trim so I understand your dilemma. I ended up matching the white of the windows because we wanted the blinds to 'disappear' when they are opened. Have attached a pic to show the white windows with classic cream trim fyi.......See Morecurtains or blinds .... ideas needed
Comments (17)Please don't install verticals. You have such a beautiful home, I strongly believe drapes will look amazing. With curtains you want to install them as high as possible, I would install on the same level as your kitchen cabinetry, so about 10cm below the ceiling cornice. Colour, I recommend two shades darker or lighter to give the room dimension. I feel a classic look will last you a lifetime so a plain coloured drape, and if I were you I would add a border in another neutral colour to further add interest. I will show you a photo of a drape I did for a client and I think this style would suit you. She chose Madison Linen fabric with a dark grey border....See MoreBlind for entry window?
Comments (33)Thanks oskuee. We have decided to go with obscure glass for the sidelight window as it is too narrow for a blind. For the window, we have chosen a screen roller blind to sit in the window recess so we still have a view outside, when we have it down, but people cannot see in when the lights aren’t on inside. We want a blind for privacy when we are not home, in which case the lights won’t be on. So best of both worlds - view and privacy. As for colour, we have decided to go with a Coal colour with Matt black base rail to give a contemporary look which looks great against the concrete and the rust front door. Happy with our choices. Thanks to all!!...See MoreInterior window coverings for black exterior windows
Comments (6)Hello, this is exactly why window treatment specialists such as ourselves exist! There are a lot of options depending on your preference for internal look. Some simple ideas such a dual roller blinds have already been referenced. You’ll have to meet with a consultant to see how two fabrics pair, especially if you’re considering one being light filtering. You can also mix treatments such as a dark roller blind recess fit to the window, and a light roman blind fit over the architrave which will give you a soft fabric finish. Alternatively white plantation shutters contrasting an exterior black window frame can actually look really stunning. It does depend on the style of the black framing you use. Feel free to post a picture of your style of window frame used and I can try to help you online Shannon -RPShutters www.riverinaplantationshutters.com.au...See MoreCally
