Induction hot plates are becoming more popular in modern kitchens due to the fact that they are quicker and cleaner than traditional cooking appliances and far more controllable. On the other side, there is no heat in the hot plate as all the heat is in the base of the cookware. Consequently, when water boils vapour is formed and is clearly visible and that will condensate on the filters of the rangehood. The droplets formed will drop back on to the hot plate and into the cooking appliance. With the WESTMORE rangehood this problem is overcome. When water boils, steam will form as water vapour comes in contact with a cooler environment and the vapour is clearly seen rising from the heat source. This vapour will condensate on splash backs and on metal rangehoods but particularly on the filters as it is drawn into the centre by air movement from the fan motors. Why can condensation form on the rangehood filters while using induction cooktops? The induction cooktop is designed to provide rapid heating, improved thermal efficiency and greater heat consistency. For some customers with an induction cooktop, condensation can form on their rangehood filters while using their cooktop. The immediate and contained heat source of an induction cooktop can produce vapours rapidly. This prevents the filters from gradually warming up and increases the chance of condensation forming. There are many variables that can contribute to the condensation problem associated with induction cooktops and rangehoods. Some of these variables include, but are not limited to: The Country or State you live in (example, WA versus VIC, and the variables in daily temperatures) The position of your home and kitchen (morning/afternoon sun) The quality of pots and cookware you are using Height of rangehood Rapid heating Ducting angle Filter size If induction, vitro-ceramic hobs and the like are not used correctly, they can lead to problems with the condensation of liquids due to temperature differences. After some time in use, these condensed liquids can build up and possibly appear on the metal filters or the bottom of the rangehood and cupboards. It is important to understand that neither the rangehood nor the induction cooktop are faulty. In some circumstances, the combination of the rangehood, the induction cooktop, and the many variables within your home can lead to condensation forming on your rangehood filters. We just had a high flow whispair range hood installed with induction cooktop and haven't seen any condensation issue.

Love my induction. Only time I've seen damage is the chipped off corner of my sisters holiday house hob. But she had cast iron pots in there. I've been told it's best to get one with metal surround. I think a flush installation would be safer too.

sorry about the drawing, but I quickly just sketched over your plans. I tried to keep the basic design you had just to save on re drawing over, but I would suggest the following as there was a lot of wasted space before. Also keep in mind that you are able to flip the house over (mirror image) if it will be too hot for the bedrooms to be on that side. Following the above drawing I would get rid of all the small hallways and extra doors you have, I would put the activity room directly on the Bed 1 wall and have built in bookshelves around the two walls, this will turn it into a study which will be a better choice for resell value. I would also put a skylight in that room as there are no windows. Entry to Bed 1 will be via the corridor which links all bedrooms, it still gives you dbl doors into the master, WIR and your ensuite. Your ensuite I would move the shower to the end and put floor to ceiling glass and turn it into a dbl shower one side can have dbl vanity and the other the WC and you would also have enough room to install a cupboard which could be a nice decorative on with glass on the top half where you could keep your towels and door on bottom to hide things. I would move Bed 4 in line with the other bedrooms, I did not move the main bathroom but you could move int and have it in the middle between two bedrooms. The main bathroom I would do a wet room which incorporates a bath and the shower behind again floor to ceiling glass. You would still have room for dbl vanity and toilet. By moving the activity room in line with the entry way, it will give you room in the bedroom hallway to incorporate a linen cupboard. By moving the drop zone and putting the PDR room door at that end it allows you to have a bigger laundry. therefore, behind the laundry door you could have overhead cupboards as well as undercounter cupboards for extra storage. Drop zones end up becoming messy and with yours right in the entry way, whenever you had guest your mess will be out in the open. By moving all this around it opens up the main hub of the house; it gives you enough room to extend the kitchen bench a little further down, I would put a large square island in the middle it allows for better flow around the kitchen and it also gives you extra seating, especially for quick breaky with the kids in the morning before running out the door to do school drop offs and work. It also gives you extra cupboard space as you are able to have doors put right around underneath for extra cupboards. Your dining area now has grown and leaves you with extra space along the the new study wall that you can have as a kids zone. Firstly, being little you will want to keep an eye on them secondly as they grow they want their own bedrooms. Your family living area is still the same; I would also wrap the pergola around to the end of the house which enables you to build an outdoor kitchen/bbq area with a table for entertaining and on the other end you could have comfy couches to lounge in when outdoors, have your morning coffee and watch the kids play in the backyard. I'm unable to reproduce the shape of the block precisely but if the house is pushed as close to the south boundary as possible there should be enough space for a 6m set back to the lounge and at least a metre to the side of the alfresco and garage with 2m from the laundry and bathroom with plenty of north facing garden for landscaping to frame the views and screen the road. My suggestions include only minor alterations that shouldn't challenge the builders (GJGardners own the plans so assume they will be building it for you)..lose the WIL in favour of a more generous PWDR, family and kitchen..towels can be stored in the three vanities and bed linen in freestanding storage or in the wardrobes, there's no biw in bed 2 in favour of free standing furniture for more flexibility for furniture placement, more generous ens shower and swapping the vanity and toilet in the ens makes access easier with the bed placed against the east wall to enjoy the views and it keeps the toilet noise away from the connecting wall with bed 2..the floorplan will be good provided careful attention is paid to location of doors and windows eg only a single doorway into the lounge for better furniture placement, a minimal west facing window and to be able to make the lounge a quiet space or extra bedroom..i've kept the sink in the island as my induction cooktop came with strict instruction that it not be used for a work surface..i've used a hinged door in the laundry for easier cabinet installation and to include a small window and hinged connecting door into the garage for better seal and added a paved extension to the floor of the patio and alfresco that could be added later and shaded with a deciduous vine covered pergola for hot weather
