Couch colour & material

open plan living, not sure on what couch design-colour and material to choose- my kitchen is nearby and have overhead cupboards- dark called 'charred oak' from laminate- my cupboards below are called ' antier' similar to a light coffee colour- grey tone. white ceaser stone benchtop, in my dinning area I have a white high gloss buffet and my dining tabel i will buy is a glass round 5 seater with white puv chairs- outlined in black on the edging, I have a white small high gloss tv unit- tv is on the wall, i have dark floating floorboards and my blinds will be white day scree- sheer view. I cant decide on sofa colour or choose material or leather design?

Find an area rug you love for the space in front of the TV, and pick one of the colours from that for a sofa to sit opposite the TV. Then go with a darker or lighter shade of that colour for a pair of armchairs to sit at the window end of the room. Add some scatter cushions and throws in solids and patterns based on the other colours in the rug for a pop and it should all come together in a cohesive look. Flanking the sofa with a pair of side tables with lamps on would also look great.

hey everyone we have finally moved and we got the sofa bed. It is fantastic. I'm still unpacking boxes and trying to sort through things but I think the layout works as I can enjoy views out to my yard while Hudson plays. Thanks again for your advice and help.

Thanks for all the feedback. We have borrowed the chair from the shop. Any further thoughts? That brown chair will go and I am proposing 2 orange chairs with orange and grey cushions on both couch and chairs. And while you are at it we are changing front door - do you think white slatted look or natural wood. Natural wood would be my preference but behind the curtains we have put in modern French doors and taken out cottage pain and everything is painted white.

Really depends on your style, I would say have a couch that doesnt sit too close to the floor and something with thinner arms, the room doesnt look large so having chunky furniture may not suit the room. Rug go for neutral but textured so it doesnt look completely bland or layer some rugs to add interest but keep the base neutral so you can play with colour.
