I love the option to work in a private office while still feeling connected to the larger open plan space. And who doesn't want a huge blackboard to creatively brainstorm?

You have a beautiful mantle! If I had your problem, I would actually replace the mirror with a far more bigger and elegant looking one! I would place one or two photos of loved ones on the mantle while incorporating some beautiful candles, crystal and elegant flower arrangements! Ideally I would use fresh flowers, but there are also a large range of fake flowers out there as well that look like the real thing. Another tip would be to paint the wall above the mantle. By doing so, you create a feature wall. Make sure that it compliments your interior furnishings in the room!

I like the triangular pattern and stag head, however the teal does not seem to blend in well with the dining chair covers. You could try matching the ochre colour in the triangles in the plain cushions.

Great job Deanne. You know working on a budget gets you creative. I think everyone needs the experience for appreciation sake............. enjoy your space and be proud of the simple fact you have your own home and it looks fab. It's a great achievement.
