There's just me living in this space. In the 4mths I've lived here so far I haven't had to clean the tiles on back wall but it is dark so maybe I can't see the mess. As for the sink area there's water splashes always on the tiles. The kitchen designer advised me against using the mirror here for that reason.

A mirrored splash back is nowhere more appropriate than in a room with a view. The maintenance of a mirrored splash back is one of the easiest, as with glass, no grout lines, and a simple wipe over with glass cleaner, metho is my choice, will always have it sparkling. Mirror will reflect any marks you've missed, so cleanliness is next to godliness. Also toughened mirror has a slightly distorted reflection, so I doesn't actually look as clean as a standard mirror. Aluminum will have the same pros, but the cons are fingerprints, as steel is more difficult than glass to master cleaning without streaks, and cleaning products are more specific. If go glass/mirror for this reason.

Awesome!! Actually macymacmaples, the mirror will date more than the white glass. My cupboards will be white handleless polyurethane...and I'm gonna choose Ceasartsone Calacatta Nuvo as my benchtops :) hagan - My painter (which is my cousin) lol, also wants me to do vivid white ceilings..but I'm thinking of just keeping it the same and doing Natural white ceilings too as I don't like contrast...I prefer it to all blend....Dunno yet tho, will keep u updated ;)

Mirror splash backs would look lovely in a show home. Mirrors are only stunning when there sparkling clean. They would annoy me if they were constantly needing to be cleaned. I think you would be creating an on going chore for yourself, like Karen Mc, they would drive me crazy.
