This is the 'black' version. Do you think that it will still get lost and we need something with more punch. Still deciding on best material/colour for splashback. We will have a window over the sink and glass fronted cabinets along the wall behind the island bench. I love industrial too it's raw.. clean lines..our place used to be a shop..terrace out the front then they built an extension out the back to house the printers..hence the high ceilings..we visited Japan just before renovating this place thus the Japan render..pendants were made by one of our client to say thank you..court yard etc

It might be worth while to consider the rest of the space also. Your breakfast bar/kitchen is located quiet closely to your dining table so depending on your kitchen space (apologies, I can't see too much of your kitchen from the photo) you might want to think about the overall style you want to achieve for you entire open plan space, and select pendants that would work for both your kitchen and dining. This is a project I worked on recently that shows how two different types of pendants can work harmoniously in the one space that is most similar to your kitchen and dining set up. Keep us posted on what you decide!

It's all about proportions, the individual space and how it works. If they are directly above a bench top (or table) you can get away with hanging them a bit lower than normal because you don't have to make sure they're above head cracking height, but if they are above an island you don't want to have to be constantly peering around the pendant lights to talk to someone on the other side.
