Bump.

Could be the product itself not how its laid.

Could be no underlay - some must have it from what I recall.

Could be the existing floor has a bow in it.

Check the manufacturers spec and see how it must be used.

I'm no carpet/floor layer but we laid masonite over the existing floor, some underlay (rubbery type of stuff) then laminate floor over the top. It looked quite good once done and was quite easy really. I'm still a fan of solid timber floor then sand and polish but this not always an option due to cost, etc..

Hi there. Same as above,. We laid our own flooring from Masters. You need 1cm around all edges against the walls. One important thing to do when you purchase the boards and bring them home is to leave them in the room you are going to lay them in and stack them like jenga bricks so they dont bow as they are exposed to the humidity and temperature of that room. Also if you have a large window they need to be laid adjacent from the window. It does need a thin underlay as per above its maybe 1-2mm thick plastic or foam with shiny back. consider what is uunderneath the floor.is there a bathroom below and moisture coming up through floorboards? Was it a concrete floor that still had glue patch or uneven surface as floors are meant to be leveled before laying. Did you remove the skirting boards before laying? Perhaps when they were put back they were too close to the boards and the pressure stops ability to expand, presuming expansion room was left. Good luck.

Ps. When stacking boards in the room before laying they should still be boxed and should be there a few days at minimum to acclimate.

One more thing after looking at photo. Does it do it when the bed or other furniture is not in the room? Maybe your underlay is too thick causing the boards to sink under the weight of the bed and then causing bowing effect...?

@mutcherson, you are quite right re leaving the boards in the room to acclimatise. I had forgotten that part! I left mine for a week.

I had laminate installed a year ago because it is meant to be indestructible. I now have lots of little holes appearing ....where kids have dropped sharp things - not damage from my labradors which is what I was worried about. Am about to lay another floor in the country and I don't think that I will use laminate.

A straight edge should have been placed all over the floor to determine where all the low spots are . Then purchase a self levelling product and pour that into all the areas where it may be low thus when putting the floor down it sits on a level surface . What you have ATM are high spots and the new flooring isn't locking in properly . The flooring can be reused I hope this helps you

We have laid quite a bit of this stuff in our house and I agree with all that's been said. You need someone to check if it has been laid properly... even if you have to pay for that person to check it (and hopefully the supplier will provide someone free of charge to confirm its' not their product), it is worth getting it checked by an expert given your v considerable investment. If its' not glued down it should be reusable. The surface does scratch more easily than solid timber so I wouldn't use in high traffic areas, but we have it in bedrooms, and with care re moving beds and side tables, it is ok.... good value for the money. PS: Looks v nice.
