Hi annalisa 86 -- I see the lounge as your living room with sofa's, TV and in general, the place where you relax. The rectangular openings in the wall between the two rooms are beautiful, and are a unique feature in a home! Can you please provide more photos of each room to help us see the bigger picture and properly recommend where to place the furniture? Georgina has provided great options for the rumpus room: 1) cinema room, 2) home office, and 3) formal dining room. This is a large room with a sliding door to the balcony, which makes it a room that should be used for a purpose that makes a special statement. Do you love to cook and entertain family and friends? Do you have a barbecue grill out on the balcony? If so, a large, formal dining room would be perfect for this space, particularly during the summer when guests can go outside and enjoy being on the balcony too. Another idea is a game room with pool table, poker table, bar and small pub tables, which again, would be good if you like to entertain. You could give it a sports theme and have another TV here for friends to hang out and watch the game. This idea also goes well with having a barbecue grill and outdoor patio furniture on the balcony, so guests can move between the two areas. Or, you could make the living room a formal room and use it only on special occasions and use the rumpus room as the family room where everyone hangs out, watches TV and relaxes. You could even turn it into a multi-purpose room, where you have the family room, a sewing area (for example) and a home office. Hi All, well I've been test painting for days and still so unsure. I think the hardest part is deciding on the gutters etc. In the top photo you can see from left to right. Dune full strength, then Jasper at the other end of same gutter, below that is a white called Surfmist and then there is monument on the lower gutter. I quite liked the monument on the gutter but when tried on the wooden fence it was clearly going to be too much darkness and didn't look good. I'm currently trying Jasper on the fence and other areas but its really a brown colour and again over a large area not sure its going to look all that nice and maybe too dark. When trying lighter colours, white and off whites on the trimmings they looked far too start on the dark roof so I think white/s are out for gutters. Can you have a different coloured fence (wooden panels) to the trimmings on the house? I've been assuming they need to match. I'm fairly happy with half dune on the walls. Any other suggestions for trimmings or thoughts on the colours in this photo? Its doing my head in now!! Second photo was house with lighter colours on the gutters - surfmist and dune I think. I tried a vivid white but it was crazy wrong.

Strange of the neighbour's builder to paint the side of your house without any instructions or payment. I suspect that the paint may actually have been to cover something up that the builder made. Perhaps they accidentally splashed or spilt paint onto your side facing wall, and they decided that it would be easier to paint it out than clean it up. Possibly hoping that nobody would notice until they had been paid for the job! Dr Retro

So much potential here. Start by buying an interiors magazine eg "inside out". Choose something in a slick modern style in colours you like. Now find a similar colour palette already put together... If you are new to decorating, grab an interiors paint decorating catalogue from bunnings and choose a colour scheme out of it that more or less matches the inpiration magazine pics. Now collect samples of bench tops from kaboodle in bunnings... again use your magazine inspo as a guide for something similar. You can paint the cabinetry with white knight paints..see cherie barber youtube clip on how to. Update tapware to modern black. Curtains ..for starters..try to get off the rack s old sheers from freedom. Black or white or neutral .
